I love the way her bright red lips frame her beautiful smile,
and the sexiness of her slick black shoes.
But she wears red and I wear blue.
I love the adventures she takes me on,
how she always finds something new.
But she wears red and I wear blue.
I love the way the sun shines on her skin,
so smooth and cool.
But she wears red and I wear blue.
I love the way she's so dramatic,
how she's not always completely true.
But she wears red and I wear blue.
I love the way she's so determined,
never really willing to change her view.
But she wears red and I wear blue.
I love the way she loves others,
she says we're stuck like glue.
But she wears red and I wear blue.
I love the way her eyes light up,
never really the same hue.
But she wears red and I wear blue.
I love the way her mouth sometimes strays,
Then she covers it and stares at you.
But she wears red and I wear blue.
I love her love for animals,
Her favorite place is the local zoo.
But she wears red and I wear blue.
I love the way she blushes at me,
and each time my love for her grew.
But she wears red and I wear blue.
I love the way she looks when she awakens,
and stares out at the morning due.
But she wears red and I wear blue.
I love the way she's so courageous,
always willing to speak her mind.
So why can't I?
Even with our different colors,
She taught me how to be adventurous,
how to always find something new.
She taught me how to be dramatic,
how to never be completely true.
She taught me how to be determined,
how to trust my point of view.
She taught me how to love others,
how to find people with nothing but glue.
She taught me how to share my love,
how to find the places that I enjoy.
She taught me how to show my feelings,
to let my blushes free.
She taught me how to be courageous,
so now that's what I'm about to do.
"I love you," I say. She stares at me with those big blue eyes as a blush rises to her cheeks. "I love you."
"I love you too."She wears red and I wear blue.

PoetryIt's so rare to need something, you don't want. It's so common, to want something, you don't need. These are the words that I want, but don't always need. These are the words that I wish need, but almost always want.
