Chapter 14- The Convict

I walk into the office with Pam to see one of the new employees with her baby, Pam mistake him for a girl and I try not to laugh at her, I ask to hold him and she agrees, Jim sees Jess holding a baby, he smiles at her when she turns around, she gesture with her hand to come over, Jim starts to get out of his seat when Ryan walks past and over to her, Jess and Ryan are both cooing over the baby as Jim pretends to stretch as the camera watches him.

Jess watches Jim and Karen by the photo copier when Ryan walks over to her and offers to buy her food. She sees the camera on her reaction, but she smiles and follows him to the kitchen.

"Yes, I've started to see Karen. It's very new, and I'm not really ready to talk about it openly yet just because I think once the word gets out there, it might affect the way people behave around us. Or... I don't know. Just not yet." Jim smiles at the camera.

"It's Karen. The person Jim is seeing when he told me he was seeing someone, I guess it was her. She pretty and Jim's happy, so that good. Happy, Happy, Happy." Jess goes red while laughing at the camera.

Jim hears Jess laughing and leans from his desk to see why. When he does he sees her and Ryan showing Phyllis, Creed and Meredith the dance they learn in Australia, he mocks laugh as he leans back to his computer not knowing that Pam and the camera are both watching him. Pam has a sad look on her as she hopes they will get together soon.

Jim answers the phone to Andy, who is looking for a women, he mentioned every girl, and Jim is praying that Jess name doesn't get brought up, but unfortunately, it does. He doesn't want her to date Andy, but he is in a new relationship and doesn't know any excuse to make up for Andy to leave her alone. Jim looks over at her, she is chatting to Phyllis to see her smiling and laughing, he smiles to himself, God has he missed that smile, saying three awful words 'Absolutely you should.'

Jess walks into the kitchen to see Jim eating lunch. She walks to make a tea, and they don't speak, "Hey."Howdy." "Howdy?"Yeah, I'm trying something new. What do ya think?" "No" "Got it, well I will see you around, partner!" Jess walks out of the kitchen with her tea, slapping her forehead."Howdy! Partner! Get a grip a Jess."

I have been watching Dwight for a couple of minutes trying to figure out what he is doing, he keeps looking at on the guys or going new him, he is clearly annoyed but it's fun to watch, when I see Dwight bend over with money in his pocket I try so hard not to laugh and I look to see if I can see Jim but he is nowhere, I will have to tell him later.

"I know Jess pretty well. I know the things she likes. And just as important, I know the things that she hates. So one of the things she likes is pranks. And things that she hates... I mean it's not like so would ever agree to it. Right?" Jim gives a sly look to the camera.

I'm currenly with Pam when Michael makes an annocement that Martin is basically a criminal but he trust him, Michael ask everyone which white person they trust and he will tell us a black person he trust more. Pam says her dad. I see Jim raise his hand, and I have the biggest smile because I know it's going to be great.'' Jonas Salk.'' I snort a laugh and walk to his desk. He looks over at me and smiles. ''Who?'' I have to get in on this ''Oh I know, Justin Timberlake.'' Jim hides his laugh and holds out his hand. As I go to high five him, he keeps the grip and aimlessly rubs his thumb on the back of it. Neither of us is noticed apart from the camera and Pam, who is smiling like crazy. Karen gets involved, and it makes me uncomfortable. I slowly take my hand and pat Jims shoulder, walking away.

I'm with Pam talking about if her and Roy are ready for a baby, seeing as we have a baby with us today, but she's not ready yet, which is understandable. I see Andy walk over to me, calling my name. I turn to face him, He tells me I'm cute and wants to take me out, I go to respond but he shh's me, as he walks past Jim he pouns him on the shoulder and when I see this, I glare my eyes into Jim's back. he turns to see my face and goes right back around.

''Wow, I have no words to be fair though, Celine Dion music sounds awesome. I know this was Jim's idea, and oh my god, he is so getting paid back for this. Can you guys do me a favour?'' Jess smiles brighly to the front. She rubs her hands together and leans forward to talk to the producer.

''Wait, hold up. Jess said she might agree to accept Andys' offer, oh crap! why did Andy mention Celine Dion, she loves her music. That wasn't what we agreed on, Dammit! I have to talk to her, I'm sorry, guys, can we do this later.'' Jim is taking off his mic, the camera crew quietly giggle putting a thumbs up to Jess who is across the room at her desk. The camera shows Jess throwing her head back, laughing.

Me and Phyllis are huddled together because it's freezing outside, Jim taps Jess on the shoulder and pulls her away. ''Hey, what's going on?'' ''Are you serious right now? You're going to say yes to Andy?'' Jess keeps a straight face even thou she is dieing inside. ''Well, I don't see why not. Out on the road, Celine Dion on the radio sounds pretty good to me.'' Jim looks at her like she's crazy. ''Jess, come on, you can't date Andy.''And why not Halpert, I have to be single forever.'' ''I didn't mean it like that, I just don't want you to go out with Andy because..'' ''Because?'' I goes silent because he doesn't know what to say to her. ''Jim, not all of us can be happy like you, okay?'' Jess walks back to Phyllis, and everyone is going inside now. The camera pans to Jim as he looks angry at himself because this wasn't supposed to happen. She was meant to say no.

''This is awesome, thank you so much guys, I owe you one.'' Jess laughs, holding her stomache.

''This is awful, What have I done, this wasn't supposed to happen, I mean just because she might agree doesn't mean she will acutally go right? She could cancel. Dear god. Please tell me she cancels.'' Jim is freaking out, rubbing his hands through his hair.

I'm getting ready to leave when Andy cames over and get's me to sit at reception, he pulls out a banjo and starts singing me a song, I can feel Jim's eyes on us but I don't look in his direction, After the song is done I tell him he did great and start to leave which then leads to him now walking me to my car, when we get there I explain to Andy that I'm not looking to date right now but to let him down gently, I tell him that when I am he will be the first person I talk too, which is obiously a lie. Andy walks away back into the building and I sit in my car to wait for Jim to leave so we can talk.

Jim turns around to see Andy coming back in ''Hey man, How did go?'' ''Well for your info Big tuna, she turned me down, says she wasn't looking to date right now, but when she is she will hit me up so I count that as a win.'' ''I'm sorry man'' Jim has the biggest smile on his face as he leaves the office but when he gets outside and sees Jess in her car he makes his way over. Jess sees him and rolls down the window ''Oh, Halpert, I hate you so much. Out of the pranks you can do, why is it this one, why not prank Pam then I could of join in. I hope you liked the little setup I did with the crew.'' Jim laughs at her.''Wait, what do you mean.'' ''Come on, You really think i would go out with Andy, even thou country music might have got me, No, I tricked the crew to tell you I might say yes and well it worked.'' Jim and Jess laugh with each other. he also is relieved that it was prank back on him, and she wasn't actually going to go.

''I can not believe you guys agre to prank me on Jess's behalf, but I'm so glad you did. I'm so happy she is not going on a date with him. Thank you guys for scaring me death and making me laugh all in one day, but just so we are clear, I will be paying her back for this. It is not over.'' Jim is laughing when Jess shouts from behind that she will give him a ride. He turns to her and then back at the camera. ''Thanks, guys. we will see you tomorrow.''
