——EAVESDROPPING ISN'T ILLEGAL (PART TWO!!)"ALRIGHT," DANTE'S VOICE WAS almost muffled by the sounds of waves crashing on the beach, "who's next for introductions?"
"ooh!" odessa squealed, "me, me!"
"be quick," heath suppressed his smile, "i wanna go after."
at that, lilith smiled widely. she liked it whenever the time came for them to act like actual children. it was so rare because of the combination of past trauma and the state of constant fear that demigods lived through.
the group of four were sitting on the beach. it was about thirty minutes before dinner and since all of them had finished their training for the day, they had time to just hang out and relax. the sight in front of them was beautiful. the sky was painted a mixture of pink, orange, and yellow that seeped into the clouds. the sun was setting and in about an hour it would be absolutely dark. the perfect conditions for campfire songs.
"my name's odessa laurel hayes," the small girl started, looking into the camera, "uhmmmm...i'm ten years old, i fight with dual daggers...dogs are my favorite animal—"
heath groaned at the mention of dogs. clearly, they were not his favorite.
odessa was one of the many unclaimed campers who bunked in the hermes cabin. her mother (an ancient greek goddess) was unknown. lilith didn't know the exact reason for her lack of claiming odessa, but she guessed it was because she was busy...or—the more likely reason—she just didn't care. either way, odessa didn't know who her godly parent was—which, unfortunately, messed up the young girl emotionally wise.
she was a pretty girl, though. that was one thing for certain. whoever her mother was, she was definitely beautiful. odessa had curly red hair that went up to her mid back. it wasn't a severe shade of ginger, it was more like a color you would get if you used box dye, even though the girl didn't have any access to it at camp. it was a deep, dark red that looked like the color of blood (as morbid as that sounded). it was lilith's favorite feature about her. but her eyes, man, they were terrifying. they were literally black (not even exaggerating or anything, they were black). these two features went incredibly well with her pale skin. if she wasn't scruffed up with dirt and bruises all the fucking time, lilith would've compared her looks to a porcelain doll's.
suddenly, odessa was done with her introduction and passed the camera to heath. lilith wondered how long she'd tuned out.
"uh," heath shifted nervously, "shit, what do i even say?"
lilith raised her eyebrow playfully, "you wanted to go so badly, you figure it out."
"oh, choke on my big....", his eyes glanced back at the camera, which was blinking red and staring directly at him. he straightened up, "ahem, my name is heath wells. im a son of nike, goddess of victory, obviously. and..."
heath already got an introduction, sort of. but, it was mostly about his bad behavior that past year, not how he looked like. and that was much more important information!
he had dark skin that contrasted with the other's sickly shades nicely. his body was very, very muscular for a seventeen year old from hours of intensive and excruciatingly painful combat training. everyone at camp used to say that luke was the best swordsman at camp before he left, but lilith would openly disagree. heath was the best for sure. his curly black hair was almost always styled in dreads that mostly covered his eyes (though, he was thankfully leaning into other styles with the help of some aphrodite campers). his arms and legs were covered with countless scars from either training, fighting monsters, or doing dumb dares because of his complex to be the best at everything. like every child of nike, his eyes were a deep gold color inherited directly from their mother.
