Tyler leaves. "You should probably apologize to him," he tells me.

I freeze. Probably so. I guess it wasn't very nice of me to do that. Though the experience itself was very- Stop it, Dan.

I walk to his room and knock on the door. "Phil? Could we talk?"

I hear a shuffling. "Go away."

"Phil, I just need to speak to you. What happened-"

"I don't want to hear it!" he shouts, cutting me off. The bedroom door opens and I face an angry Phil. "You've honestly broken through my last straw. That was the line, and you crossed it."

I huff and frown. "It was just a kiss," I said, regretting that moment on the spot.

He looks at me in disgust. "Just a kiss? Yes! It could've gone worst, but you have no idea what you had done with that one measly little kiss!"

I tap my foot on the floor. "It wasn't that bad, was it?"

"You can't kiss me because I- No! Dan! You don't kiss people because someone tells you to!"

"Why not?"

He breathes out in exasperation. "It's wrong! God, you're so inconsiderate and dense sometimes!"

My fingers grip my arms. "You let me off before."

"Before?"

"Nothing."

"Dan, have we kissed before today?"

"...No."

"Dan?"

"Just accept my apology, alright? I'm saying sorry, right now, to your face, because I kissed you without permission. I thought it wouldn't have changed our relationship, but now I see that it still made you really angry. So, I'm really, really sorry."

The door shuts abruptly, opening back up right after. I can't see Phil, but I heard him clearly before the room was closed off once more.

It wasn't playful or kidding, it was pure anger and malice.

"I hate you."

Okay, Dan. Don't screw this up. You worked hard for this opportunity and you're going to win him back.

Win him back? He's not a prize, dumbass.

No, keep your thoughts focused. Use this dinner to your advantage.

I knocked on the wood softly. "Phil, I want to ask you something."

No answer. Well, I guess that's pretty much expected. I knocked on the door again, to make sure he wasn't sleeping or anything, and heard a loud clatter.

I started to panic, but calmed myself. That wasn't what I was here for.

"Phil, my mum invited us to a dinner together."

Still silent.

"Well, not with my mum. She had made the reservation and was unable to attend to the event. She didn't want to waste the invite, as she was planning on going with my dad."

Still nothing.

"Do you want to come with?"

I listened as the door unlocked. "I don't want to talk to you."
