[ inside the house ]
꧁꧂Michonne and Vanessa trudged through the quiet neighborhood, their steps muted by the overgrown grass and fallen leaves. The houses they passed were eerily still, with broken windows and doors ajar, a haunting reminder of the world that had once been.
As they rounded a corner, Michonne's gaze settled on a particular house. Something about it struck her as off. he stopped, her instincts telling her there was something important about this place.
"Hey, Vanessa," Michonne called softly, beckoning her over.
Vanessa, who had been scanning the area for any signs of danger, walked over to Michonne. "What's up?"
Michonne pointed to the window of the house. Vanessa peered through the window. At first, all she saw were the usual remnants of abandoned homes: dusty furniture and empty rooms. But then, her eyes widened as she noticed two familiar figures sitting at a makeshift table. The shock of recognition hit her like a tidal wave.
"Rick," she whispered, her voice trembling. "Carl. They're inside."
Her breath caught in her throat, and tears welled up in her eyes. She fell to her knees, overwhelmed by the sight. The sheer relief and disbelief made her hands shake as she wiped away her tears.
Michonne knocked on the door, the sound echoing through the quiet neighborhood.
There was a moment of silence before the sound of footsteps approached from inside. The door creaked open slowly, revealing Rick and Carl's faces, their expressions a mixture of confusion and joy as they saw their long-lost friends standing in front of them.
"Vanessa?" Rick's voice was filled with disbelief and relief. "Michonne?"
Tears streamed down Vanessa's face as she took in the sight of Rick and Carl. "Rick... Carl..." she choked out, her voice breaking.

Michonne stood back for a moment, letting the reunion unfold, her heart swelling with happiness at seeing her friends finally reunited.

Inside the house, Vanessa made her way to one of the bedrooms to change. The room was a snapshot of a life once lived: family photos on the walls, a neatly made bed, and a dresser filled with clothes. She rifled through the drawers, pulling out a bright, floral-patterned shirt.
After changing, Vanessa took a deep breath and looked at herself in the mirror. She hated it, thinking she looked like a preschool teacher. When she walked back downstairs, the clattering of dishes and the murmur of conversation in the kitchen greeted her. As she entered the room, Rick was at the counter, organizing the supplies they had gathered.
