꧁꧂The next two days were a whirlwind of fear, pain, and relentless survival. The events unfolded like a grim play, each act more harrowing than the last. Bob went missing first, an absence that was like a punch to the gut for everyone. They found him, eventually, but the sight was one of horror and revulsion.
Bob had been taken by the remnants of Terminus, those twisted souls who had survived and were watching them. They had cut off his leg, roasted it, and eaten it in front of him. The image of Bob, pale and in agony, his eyes pleading even as he knew his fate, was seared into Vanessa's mind.
It was during the raid on the food bank that Bob had been bitten. The infection spread quickly, and Sasha, with a heart heavier than any burden, couldn't put him down and relied on Tyreese. There was no time to grieve, no moment to catch their breath.
Daryl and Carol were also missing. Vanessa's heart clenched with worry every time she thought about them. The days stretched on, each moment tinged with anxiety as she hoped they were okay, prayed they would come back.
The people of Terminus came to the church next. Their arrival was swift and brutal, a storm of violence that Vanessa and the others met with equal ferocity. They fought, desperate and fierce, managing to kill all of them. The church, a place that had once promised sanctuary, was now stained with blood and death.
Maggie, Glenn, and Tara were gone. They left with Abraham and Rosita to take Eugene to DC. They went as a deal so that Abraham and Rosita would help them with Terminus.
Then, out of the chaos, Daryl returned. Relief washed over Vanessa, but it was tempered by the absence of Carol and the presence of a new face. A young man, Noah, accompanied him.
He quickly filled them in on what happened. He and Carol tracked the people who took Beth to Grady Memorial in Atlanta. But while Carol had also been taking, he found Noah, a boy who'd been in Grady with Beth and got out when she didn't.
So they split up. Half the group went to Atlanta to get Beth and Carol while half of them stayed at the Church. When a beat-up fire truck rolled back to the church, Maggie and Glenn gave them the horrible news.
Eugene had lied.
Although Vanessa wasn't nearly as disappointed as everyone else, having a feeling that Eugene was lying anyway. So hopping on the truck with everyone else, they made their way to Atlanta, to Grady where the rest of their group was.
But what they all thought would be a glorious reunion was just another disastrous moment on the tail end of constant disastrous moments. Beth had been killed. Inches away from safety, a shot to the head ended the girl's life before it could even really start.
And now, after the loss of two of their own and with DC no longer holding anything of value, the group turned to Noah who offered a new plan. One that Beth wanted to be there for.
