I woke up the next morning with a sharp headache. What the hell happened? All I remember was driving around, I ended up going to the bar, and then that last thing I remember was some girl driving me home and-

Ah shit.

I turned to the other side of the bed to see no one in the bed. So, did I have a one nightstand or what? Doesn't matter, I just needed to get out of bed and head to the gym. It was currently 11:43 AM, an hour behind schedule. I get up and go to the bathroom to freshen up. As I entered the bathroom, I looked at myself in the mirror. I can't believe I let myself get to this point. I haven't had a drink at a bar in almost a year, and here I was drinking because of a stupid break up. I wasn't even upset about the fact she cheated on me. If it was some douche she met on the side of the road, I would've just left her like that and focus on myself without feeling any type of remorse. But this was different. She knew Damian was my rival, so the fact that he managed to get my girl bothered me. I've been made into a complete joke. A kickboxing champion lets his girlfriend cheat on him with his rival. The media was the worst part. They went as far to say we were a polyamorous couple in secret, but she ended up falling in love with Damian more than me.

What a fucking joke.

I then feel all the alcohol catching up to me. I ran to the toilet and quickly throw up. This is not who I am.

I went to the gym later that day. As I was in the locker room, Kai came up to me. "I heard that you were at the bar last night" He says. I grunted at his comment because I felt a lecture coming. "I know you don't want to hear this, but we agreed you were not allowed to drink liquor. Just wine and beer. and you've been sobered from that for almost a year, what's beating you up so badly?" he says. I didn't want to respond to his question, because he knew deep down what this was about. "Kai, just leave it" "but I..." "Leave it". And that was the end of our conversation. I got up and walked into the boxing gym. I walked over to a corner and started stretching. As I was, all I could think about was the girl at the bar. I think she was the bartender.

She had dark curly hair and shiny olive skin. I remember she wore a regular white button up with a black tie. She was rather basic, but something about her stood out to me, but I just didn't know what.

I know.

She treated me like a regular customer. Normally when I go to any public place, The owners would close the entire place just to have me there. But she didn't treat me like I was famous, she treated me like a regular guy who wanted a drink. I'm guessing she didn't know who I was, since she didn't seem the least bit excited to see me.

Before I got too deep into my thoughts, my coach walked in with my manager. They both look directly at me and signal me to come to my coach's office. The last thing I needed was a lecture.

I walked into the office and sat in one of the chairs next to my manager. "so, I heard your drinking again?" Coach says. I sighed annoyed, of course he told him. "Look Zryan, I understand you loved Jade. But you cannot let something like that affect you in a time like this. and you're going to waste it because of some chick?" Coach says. He was right, I shouldn't be letting some girls effect my work. But I wasn't going to let him know that.

"Your coach is right. But I'm glad that nice bartender girl was the one who took you home. I had to reward her for her kindness" my manager says. This old man probably gave her a check or something. "What did you give her?" I say. "I didn't give her anything. I invited her to bartend your upcoming event" he says. I look at him with wide eyed look. I didn't mind the fact she was the bartender, that was the least of my worries. It was just the fact that she saw me at one of my lowest points, and I'm going to have to face her again.

"Look, I just don't want you drinking again, okay?" my coach says. I nodded my head slightly before getting up. I walked out of the office and continued to my training.

That old geezer.
