I heard the front door slam, and it caused me to wake up. I opened my eyes and looked around my room. Was I drunk last night? What the hell happened?
I then looked down to see brown hair lay across my chest. It took me a minute to realize that this was not Serenity. I sat up quickly and push her off me. I grabbed my sweatpants from the ground and quickly rush out the room to look for Serenity.
I went inside her room and found a note on her bed. I then saw the necklace I bought her on top of the note. I picked up the note and started reading it.
"Dear Zryan, I'm no longer gonna be able to stay with you anymore. Clearly you got what you wanted out of our agreement. I'm done going around places with you and making you seem like the best guy ever and giving you a good image. I would've thought that night would've at least changed us a little bit, we would have a stronger bond. But clearly that wasn't your plan. But your plan on getting Jade back actually worked out for you.
Good for you.
I realized that this lifestyle wasn't meant for me, and it will never be. I'm just a bartender who helped you one night and I end up here?
I wish that night never fucking happened."
I didn't notice I was about to cry until I finished the note. She saw us, and it's all my fucking fault. Jade smooth talked me into this whole thing, and I couldn't believe I did. Now I lost Serenity, the only person who actually cared for my wellbeing.
The next day I was at the boxing gym all day. I had my security drag out Jade yesterday morning while she was still sleeping. It was pretty funny, but that was the only thing that made me smile this entire time.
I punched the punching bag as hard as I could. I don't even remember what happened that night, but what I really couldn't wrap my head around was how mad I was about Serenity.
Me and her were not truly together, we just did it for the cameras. But even then, how could she embarrass me like that the night before my upcoming match. But why do I feel so strongly about her? It's not like we were in love or whatever.
At least I think we weren't.
I left the boxing gym early and sat in my car, calling Serenity back-to-back but got no answer. I have never been thirsty for someone to pick up the phone, but this situation is different. Everyone is expecting her at my match tomorrow, I can't have people even thinking we broke up.
As I kept calling her, someone finally picked up. "Serenity, we need to talk now" I say firmly. "Serenity is busy at the moment" a man's voice on the other line said. I squeeze my phone harder at the sound. "Who the hell are you?" I say aggressively. "I'm Serenity's brother-in-law. And like I said before, Serenity cannot get to the phone at the moment so please stop calling" he says. He hung up the phone before I could even get a word in.
I stood still for a few seconds before slamming my phone on the passenger seat and starting up my car.
This shit is the fucking worst.
I got home and didn't even take a shower. I got straight into my bed and laid there, staring at my wall. Serenity has been on my mind all day. way more than Jade ever has our entire relationship. My phone starts ringing.
I looked and saw it was Serenity calling. I immediately pick up the phone and start talking. "Serenity, we need to talk" I say. no answer.
"Serenity, I...I need you to come to my match tomorrow" I say. It was silent until she spoke. "Your telling me, you called me not because you felt sorry or anything. But you want me to go to your match? Unbelievable" she says before she hangs up. I call her back, but it went straight to voicemail.
What the fuck Zryan, you couldn't just tell her?
I am unbelievable.
