Calla's POV
When I wake up in Evander's arms at 6:00 in the morning, I'm still kinda sleepy, so I skip my run and go instead on a walk into the woods. I leave a note telling him my change in plans and head off.
When I get back, it's 7:57, and while I'm trying to not be too prideful, I can't help but smile at my awesome sense of time.
When I have the blueberry, chocolate chip, and banana bread muffins on the table next to the bacon and homemade donuts I set down the boys drinks I their spots before I realize I don't know what Jenny wants. She can sit in Sammy's spot, and I'll ask her then. I set an extra spot for her boyfriend in case he makes it
I'm halfway done waking the boys up when I hear a knock at the door. Eh, it's just her boyfriend, she can go get him.
Evander's POV
I am awaken by a knock at the door.
"Where's Cal?" Jenny asks.
"She wakes up at six for her run, then goes to her room to exercise," I pause and pick up a note. "well, she was tired today, so she just went on a walk. She starts breakfast at 8:00 and wakes us up at 8:30 to eat.
Jenny chuckles as she makes her way to the door. "Such a mother hen, that one. What he hell did you boys do before her!??" She asks teasingly.
"I honestly have no fucking clue." I joke, but we both know I'm dead serious.
"Baby!!" She shrieks as a very large man walks through the door.
"Precious!!!" He yells as he squeezes her to his chest.
"Where's Cal? I want her to meet him! It smells good, so she's here somewhere..."
"It's 9:01, so she's waking up the boys." I say as I glance at the clock.
"I'm Greg, it's nice to meet you, Ethan. I've heard a lot about you."
"Likewise." I smile at him as we shake hands.
"All but the last three boys are down here. Timothy, I think, says she wakes them up oldest to youngest and that now she's at Kendall's room. What's taking her so-"
"Evander!!" I turn around and sprint towards her voice.
I barge into her room and I see her holding Kendall's teddy bear with her hand over her mouth. "Princess, what is it? Where is..." I trail off when it clicks.
"Awe, baby." I coo. I sit down and pull her into my lap. Jenny and Greg are now standing at the door, but Cal hasn't noticed them. "Kendall's been here the shortest out of them all. Only six months, he didn't need as much closure as the others."
She nods and sobs into my chest. Jen looks understanding and when it clicks in Greg, he seems sorrowful.
"I'm gonna go wake up the last four." She mutters as she stands up and wipes away her tears. I nod and kiss her head. "Angel will you go check on death after breakfast?"
"Oh shit, I forgot about him. Yeah." I chuckle. We all head downstairs and give her a moment. She's so attached to all of them, and I know it hurts her to see them go.
I wait in the kitchen as Greg and Jen get their drinks. A few minutes later I hear heavy footsteps and see Cal walk in with George on her back, EJ on her hip, Juan holding her hand, and Richard hanging onto her leg for dear life.
We all bust out laughing as I scoop Richard and George up and hold them. We all walk into the dining room and sit down.
"Why isn't he sitting down?" Jen asks me as George plops down in Calla's lap.
"George has always sat to Calla's left, but he always stays in her lap. He's got some real bad separation anxiety from his mom, and he has never spoken to me. He has only ever talked to Calla." I grin at her.
"He's a momma's boy? Aww, that's so sweet!! Ethan was a momma's b-"
"Hey! Calla, right?" Greg interrupts and saves me.
Calla looks at him for a sec before going, "OHMYGOD I AM SO SORRY I AM BEING SO RUDE!!! I'm Calla. And you are?" She asks brightly.
"Greg." She beams at him. We all dig in and do the usual small talk. When we're all done the boys all go upstairs and we all go sit in the living room.
After a while of chatting, Hector runs downstairs with Tommy and they both have toys in their hands. They sit down in front of her and look up with puppy eyes. Without even saying anything, I know what they want.
"I'm sorry boys, but it's almost lunch time. And you two love food more than toys." They both fake sniffle and look down. They both fake it everything they want to guilt her into making grilled cheese. And she falls for it, every time. "How about I make your favorite lunch??" They immediately brighten up and run away with shouted Yes's and thank you's. She sighs and sulks into the kitchen.
"Baby, I'm telling you. You cave too easily. They are playing you like a violin!"
"But did you see their faces?? They looked so sad and pitiful!"
"That's the whole point, Princess!"
"Get your ass in here! You know it's a pain to make 30 grilled cheeses!" I chuckle and go pull out the variety of chips. I set the table and start to make their drinks when I realize that Calla has started to poor glasses of soda.
Greg and Jen have been standing there, watching us with amused expressions.
"Princess..."
"Dammit, Evander! They can have soda once a week!"
"They had soda last night at dinner!"
"Nuh-uh."
I give her a look.
She narrows her eyes, raises an eyebrow, and puts her hands on her hips, which are currently cocked to the side. As she begins to tap her fingernail against her jean shorts and tank top, I realize that I've lost.
"Fine!" I sigh.
She beams at means kisses my cheek.
I set he table with everyone's soda and sit down when I see that Jen and Greg are helping her carry the massive plates with grilled cheese. As we all sit down, the boys included, I see Greg whisper to Jen, "I'll never stop loving you. Prophecy or no prophecy. Council or no Council. Wings or no wings. Never."
She beams at him with tears in her eyes.
I see Princess looking at them with pure adoration in her eyes. I make a sign pop up and hold it up for her to see. When she does she grins at me and blows me a kiss.
And with that, we stuff our faces and try to ignore the smug looks on Hector and Tommy's faces.
