Melanie instantly collapsed to the ground. Because they were at the back, none of the other runners noticed, they just took offf running into the forest.
"She's been Shot!" yelled Friday. The Headmaster hurried over.
Friday leant over to check Melanie's pulse. "She's breathing normally.." Soft snores erupted from Melanie's mouth as Friday inspected her. "She's Asleep!!"
IDK what happens after this cuz i don't have the book with me rn, so lets just skip to the part where Ian finds her stranded at the cliff, and falls down ontop of her.
Ian looked at Friday. She was clearly in pain, her eye slightly swollen, her ankle discoloured and the bruises on her cheeks.
He wrapped an arm around her and lifted her up, placing her on his lap, as he shoved her face into his chest, warming her up despite her protests.
Friday soon drifted off to sleep, in Ians arms as he held her tightly. She felt a light kiss on her forehead before drifting off to the darkness completely.
