Finals were brutal.
Just three more days.
I thought I would look at my history book and force my brain to memorize, but I had been staring for an entire twenty minutes and there was nothing in my mind.
The only thing that calmed me down was Axel's steady breaths on my neck when he read something on his phone. Whenever one of us would be free, we always hung out or stayed over in each other's houses. Dad was pretty cool about it because he trusted him, Axel was easily loved by many and I was in awe at how fast he communicated with others.
I didn't remember what happened at the party yesterday, I was exhausted to the point where I slept on my boyfriend while standing. Jade filled me in on some bits, but there was nothing major.
"I can't get this in my head." The textbook was opened on my lap, my bent knees steadied the book and I was on the same page.
"Just take a break and get back to it, you're too stressed about it," Axel advised from behind me, he traced circles on my hips.
He was right, I bit on my lip and took a deep breath. He pushed away the textbook and I changed my position only to straddle him, our hands swayed together backward and forward playfully, his head was on my headboard and my legs were on his sides, not to forget our lunatic smiles.
I found myself grudging the way Axel looked good in everything, he had on a normal white shirt and jeans yet his muscles looked good in it with his wide shoulders, his hair quiffed on the side that matched his piercing ambers which sparkled often when the afternoon sun escaped my windows, not to forget the cute roman nose and pink plump lips with light freckles randomly scattered.
"Let's play random questions," He said.
"Sure."
"Pizza or burger?"
"Definitely pizza. You?"
"Burger," he looked insulted at my answer, "winter or summer?"
"Winter, I love snowflakes."
"I like summer more. I'm a beach guy." He cleared out, he stabilized my hips with playful warning in his eyes, I didn't notice that I unintentionally rocked on his pants. "Birthday?"
"First of August, you?" I inquired.
"The last day of December."
"That's literally a month away," I noted.
"I don't usually celebrate my birthday ever since dad passed away."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be, it's been almost four years now," he explained wistfully, the ring and bracelet glinted when I touched the side of his face and he gazed at me.
"Just remember that it's not your fault and that your dad wants you to be the happiest."
"I am happy when I am with you."
I leaned down and his soft lips invited me in as we kissed, I tilted my head when he sucked on my lower lip. We pulled away, satisfied with our tingling lips.
"Tell me about your mom," he said, he was curious to learn more about her.
"My mom was everything a mom should be, she was always thoughtful. She was our rock to lean on, she was the home for me and dad, we literally shared everything with her, but she died one morning and we never got to say goodbye." I had a longing smile and I hadn't realized that my tears flowed until Axel pulled me in a hug.
"I wish I had the chance to meet your mom."
"She would have loved you, you have the same caring heart as hers." I murmured.
It was a cozy afternoon with dad and Rebecca downstairs, dad insisted that my bedroom door was open, but that didn't stop Axel from pinning me down on bed and his amazing kisses. I giggled when he tickled my sides and tongue locked with me.
"Now, let's get back to our finals."
He liked to annoy me on purpose as I groaned on his chest and he sat us up to pick my textbook, his veins popped out from his biceps to his hands and it made me hot and frustrated. Ever since we had been intimate, it was a hard battle for me and I felt like an addict for him, my body automatically desired him. I wanted to touch him and feel parts of him every single day.
I somehow managed to absorb some answers when he repeated them and asked me again while Dad kept checking up on us from time to time. Jade and Brady had the house to themselves today until midnight.
Lucky them. My dirty side snided.
I was on his lap the entire time when the movie rolled on my tv, but he was too busy assaulting my cheeks as he kept pinching and kissing them. It was the calm before the storm because the next I knew was Rebecca came with tears cascaded down her eyes like rivers.
"I called the ambulance, your dad passed out and he wouldn't wake up — I tried everything and nothing worked," Her voice hitched and I stood up to go downstairs as fast as I could, I couldn't hear anything once my eyes gazed at dad with his lifeless arms sprawled out and parted mouth.
I gasped behind my hand that was on my lips when I hurled myself at him, I shoved my face on his shirt, my body shivered violently and the medics got inside to transfer him into the van. I trailed behind them, barefoot with my tanktop and shorts, I didn't care when I got into the ambulance with them. They checked his pulse and looked somberly at each other, my heart leaped to my throat as I shook my head rapidly, my heart going into a frenzy state.
I scratched my arms out and the nurses tried to give me a sedate needle, but I thrashed against them.
"DAD. WAKE UP PLEASE." I yelled out, my voice a shrilling sound when they tried to pump his heart for the fifth, but to no avail.
"What's the date and time?" The medic asked.
That was when I got sucked into a world of silenced black.
