The fighters now stood on the nameless planet, an otherworldly arena suspended in the vastness of space. Frieza and Vegito, among the onlookers, stood with the humans, their expressions a mix of interest and detachment. The Kais had informed the fighters that they were to complete a written exam as the first part of the tournament.
Frieza's gaze wandered over to the Universe 6 team. Only three fighters caught his curiosity: Cabba, Hit, and Frost. Frost, in particular, was studying Frieza with a curious intensity. Frieza met his gaze briefly before dismissing it, focusing instead on the proceedings.
Broly, Kakarot, Raditz, Bardock, and Cell sat at their desks, diligently working on the written exams. Broly, not one for academics, seemed particularly out of place, yet he managed to pass the exam through sheer determination. The tension in the air was palpable as the participants finished their tests, their minds already shifting to the upcoming battles.
With the exams completed, the anticipation for the first match grew. The announcer's voice boomed across the arena, "The first match is ready to commence! Broly versus Botamo!"
Broly stepped into the ring, his towering figure and primal energy a stark contrast to Botamo's round, bear-like form. Botamo's confidence was evident as he faced Broly, his grin unshaken by the Saiyan's intimidating presence.
Frieza leaned over to Vegito, his tone dripping with curiosity. "What do you think of Universe 6's lineup? That Frost seems to have taken an interest in me."
Vegito, eyes fixed on the ring, responded, "He might see a kindred spirit in you, or perhaps he's wary. Either way, we should keep an eye on him."
As the bell rang, signaling the start of the match, Botamo charged at Broly with surprising speed, his bulk moving with unexpected agility. Broly stood his ground, his eyes narrowing as he prepared to counter the attack.
Kakarot, watching from the sidelines, nudged Bardock. "Broly's got this. Botamo's tough, but he's never faced anything like Broly's power."
Bardock nodded, his eyes never leaving the ring. "This will be a good test for him. Let's see how he handles it."
Botamo's first punch landed on Broly's chest, but Broly barely flinched. Instead, he grabbed Botamo's arm with a grip of steel and, with a roar, lifted him off the ground, hurling him across the ring. Botamo landed with a thud, bouncing back to his feet with a dazed expression.
From the sidelines, Hit observed with keen interest, his stoic face betraying nothing. "Interesting. His strength is overwhelming," he murmured, more to himself than anyone else.
As Botamo staggered, trying to regain his balance, Broly advanced, his aura flaring with a brilliant green light. "You're strong," Broly said, his voice a deep rumble. "But not strong enough."
With that, Broly launched himself at Botamo, the ground shaking with each step. Botamo braced himself, but the force of Broly's next attack sent him crashing out of the ring, unable to withstand the sheer power of the legendary Super Saiyan.
The crowd erupted into cheers and gasps, the intensity of the first match setting the tone for the battles to come. Broly stood victorious in the ring, his energy still crackling around him as he looked at the Universe 6 team, a silent challenge in his eyes.
Frieza smirked, satisfied with the display. "This tournament is going to be very interesting indeed."
Since Broly had triumphed over Botamo, he advanced to the second round with anticipation and eagerness. The next fighter leaped into the ring, and Broly's eyes widened in surprise. Frost, who bore a striking resemblance to Frieza, stepped forward with a confident grin. Broly, admiring Frieza, felt a twinge of respect and curiosity. Frost bowed respectfully, and Broly, recognizing the gesture, returned the bow.
