y/n pov

All the girls were basically freaking out at this point. They kept giggling or tried to make conversation with him. Rin looked unbothered, but that still made me uncomfortable. They just met this guy and they're already being crazy fangirls.

"Y/n, don't leave him hanging! Answer him!" The girls said, trying to push me closer to him. God, why are they like this? I was seriously starting to question my choice of friends.

"Noo! You should sit here with the rest of us, Rin." Akari said, batting her eyelashes a couple of times. Watching her do that just made it seem pathetic.

"I'm good. I want to sit with y/n alone." Rin said not even twitching an eye near Akari. His eyes were on me the entire time. What did he think he was doing? Just a second ago, we were saying nothing but a few words to each other. But I admit, I like his bold nature. It made me wonder more about him.

"You're no fun," Akari said, touching his arm a bit, "Why do you want to sit with y/n anyways? You like her?"

I was seriously considering whether I should punch or strangle the girl. "Akari, stop making him uncomfortable." I say giving her the stink eye. I look back at Rin, who looked at his feet. "I want to get to know y/n more. I feel like our walk wasn't enough. Is that okay?" He answered, making eye contact with me again, but this time, his eyes were sincere. All the girls oohed and aahed at each other. Which caused my face to turn hot. How could he have such an impact on me? If it was any other guy, I would've started laughing.

I tried to hide the redness on my face. The girls must've noticed because they encouraged me to go sit with him. "Aw! Look at how red y/n is! She's never this red when it comes to a guy!"

"Shut up! That's not true!" I say, lying through my teeth. I slowly get out of my chair. "You know what, I'm gonna go sit with him, until you guys stop being immature." I say admitting defeat. Giggles escaped their mouths. It wasn't like I didn't want to sit with him, I would've loved to, actually. It was that he asked me in front of a bunch of girls that would definitely start rumors. They'll never give him a break.

I made it to the back of the classroom and sat down next to Rin. I sighed with relief, getting away from those girls. Though I still see them giggling at us. Akari didn't look very happy. I'm not sure if that gave me satisfaction. I turned to face Rin, who was already staring down at me. Even when we're sitting down, I still have to raise my neck to look at him. He makes me so nervous sometimes.

"Did I embarrass you back there?" He says, finally speaking. "Of course not! I was wondering if I was embarrassing YOU. I would've came and sat with you in the first place if I knew they would be like that." I say, trying to smooth things out. "Thank you for not making it awkward."

Rin sat closer to me. "I wasn't lying back there, about wanting to get to know you." he says. "Really? I was seriously starting to think you hated me." I say, laughing. I felt his body temperature from how close he was. "I don't hate you." he said, looking like he's refraining from saying something else. "Not even after my friends?" I asked.

He's hesitant at first, until he finally spoke. "They're lukewarm. But you are the right temperature." He looked away from me and out the window after saying that. What does that even mean? Before I had the chance to react or answer, the bell rang to signal that class was starting. Our math teacher quickly silenced us.

"Okay class, that's all for today's lesson." Our math teacher said putting the whiteboard marker down. I never bothered to learn our math teacher's name, I don't take time to remember anyone's, anyways. "Since there's 10 minutes of class left, I'm gonna hand all of you a worksheet as homework. You can use the remainder of the class time to do it as well." The class all groaned, but I was pretty good at math. Everyone always asked me to teach them if they were struggling.

"Did you get that lesson, Rin?" I say, pointing at the whiteboard. "Uhm, not really. Can you teach me?" he says scratching his head. Cute, even he struggles with something as simple as math. "I'll teach you! Let's do the homework together!" I say as our math teacher handed me and Rin the worksheet. "Okay, I'm a good listener." Rin said, sitting himself even MORE close to me now. Our shoulders were pratically touching. His eyes darting over my shoulders. "So what do we do, Ms. L/n?"

I laugh at the nickname, he wasn't as awkward as I thought.

"And then you carry the 2 over there, oh and you can't forget BEDMA- Rin, are you even listening to me?" I said, noticing he was looking at me more often than the equation on our paper. "Oh come on, this is the third time! Tell me what I just taught you!" I nudge him in the shoulder. Good listener my ass.

"Oh, you were talking about carrying the 7 right?" Rin said pointing down on the wrong question. I smack my forehead for the third time. "Rin, we are on question 4, the BEDMAS question. Pay attention! We are never gonna finish this if you keep slacking off." I say, smacking the back of his head lightly.

The curves of his mouth forms upwards, woah.

I've never seen him smile, until now. His face was always so resting, and scary. But when he smiled, he looked like a whole different person.

"You should smile more, Rin. It suits you." I say smiling back at him. He pauses, hesitant to say anything else. "Don't worry about me, worry about the math." He says looking away from me again. There it is again, the cold shoulder.

"I think we don't have a lot of time left, are you still struggling and not getting it?" I said, tempting to make him look at me again. I wanted to see his face.

"Not really, but I'll probably try and learn it myself late-"

"What are you doing after school?" I asked, cutting him off.

He stares at me blankly, his face towards me again. "Not much, soccer practice." I forgot he was on the same team as Shidou.

"Oh yeah, there's a game tomorrow isn't there? You're in luck, I'm one of the soccer assistant today after school!"

He muttered something under his breath, but I couldn't quite catch it. "What was that? Can you repeat it?" I say waving my hand in front of his face.

"It's nothing, why'd you ask me what I was doing anyway?" Rin said, looking as confused as ever. He really wasn't getting the hint, was he.

"I'll tutor you after your soccer practice, we see each other anyways don't we?" Before he gets to say something, his sentence got interrupted by the bell. "Oh, it's time for the next class. See you later Rin! I won't take no for an answer!" I say, immediately grabbing my books and bags and storming out of there. I didn't wanna hear his answer. I don't know why I did that. Was it because I wanted to spend more time with him? Did I want to get to know him more as well?

I guess we will find out after school.
