"So what's your thoughts on Rin so far?" Shidou asked me, running beside me on the track. Shidou always made gym interesting, but I had a feeling today's gym class would have him interrogating me the whole time.

"He's nice, I'm tutoring him after school. I also saw him smile, isn't that nice?" I say, pauses between my words. I was seriously starting to get tired running the mile. How has Shidou not waste any breaths yet?

"WHAT. Y/N, PAUSE." He says stopping me. "Oh thank god, I was starting to get tired." I said wiping the sweat off my forehead. Gross. "Y/N. RIN NEVER SMILES AT ANYONE. NOT EVEN AT HIS OWN FAMILY. DON'T YOU GET IT??" Shidou said, basically freaking out.

"You're exaggerating it, of course he smiles with his family. What are you even trying to say?"

"Y/n, trust me. I've known that kid for 5 or more years, sadly. And I've never seen him smile for anyone or to anyone. Are you oblivious?" Shidou said putting his hand on my shoulder now.

I swipe his hand off, "Get to the point. What does a smile possibly mean?" I cross my arms, Shidou was being dramatic. An attractive guy like Rin definitely had girlfriends that woke up to his smile everyday.

"YOU'RE THE FIRST PERSON HE SMILED FOR. DO YOU NOT GET WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY? HE LIKES YOU!" Shidou ran in circles while saying that. My head was in circles from watching and listening to him.

I pause. "What? No way. I just met him today, he definitely smiled because I'm so funny."

Shidou said something under his breath, but I couldn't quite hear him. "Oh sweet y/n. If only you knew." Shidou said, getting ready to run again. But this time, he ran way ahead of me. This idiot was making me catch up.

"L/N GET ON MOVING. YOU'RE BARELY PASSING THE EXPECTATIONS." I hear the PE teacher yell. I hated that bitch holy. On any other normal day, I would've talked back, or maybe ran slower just to piss her off. But I couldn't shake what Shidou said out of my head.

Rin likes me? In no universe that's real, right? I mean, we just met, what could he possibly like about me? Do I like him back? I do think he's fairly attractive, and has a good personaility, and a really nice and alluring voice. But would I give him a chance? I was the first person he smiled to?

So much thoughts flood in my mind all at once. I replayed all our interactions and conversations. Nothing was making sense anymore. It was probably another sick joke Shidou's playing on me.

When I finally caught up to Shidou, I was the one asking the questions now. "Shidou, I thought about what you said. How do you know Rin likes me?"

"Don't believe me? You'll have to find out for yourself." Shidou said laughing at himself.

"Stop teasing me, how do I find out if he likes me or not?" I say keeping with his pace.

"Hey, hey! I don't have all the answers alright! Just spend more time with him, see what he does, see where you guys get.... Wait, are you asking me this because you like him too?" Shidou said squeeling like a teenage girl.

"What? NO! I was just curious, that's all." I say hiding my embarrassment. "Who was the past girls he has dated? Maybe we can find his type." I asked again. I was not really good at hiding my curiosity.

Shidou lets out a cackle, I don't get this guy sometimes, why is he constantly laughing at the dumbest things. "Y/N YOU'RE GONNA MAKE MY STOMACH HURT, STOP!" Shidou said, stopping another time. "Rin has never dated anyone before, in fact, he shows no interests in any girls. He got plenty of confessions in middle school but he ignored and turned them all down. You should've seen valentines day!" Shidou said slapping his knee.

"You're kidding right?" I said, confused as ever. Me and Rin were the same in a way. I had many guys confessing to me on the daily, but half of them I don't even recognize.

"Ask him yourself if you're that curious." Shidou said drying the tears in his eyes. "That was a good laugh, thanks y/n!" Shidou started running again. I can't catch a break, jesus.

Suddenly, I get a text from the blue lockers groupchat.

I put my phone away after Rin's text, when I finished the mile, the first thing I see was Shidou smirking.

"Notice how Rin listened to you and not me?"

"That's cause you're annoying." I say tongue out in his face.

"We'll see at lunch then."
