Rimuru's Point of View:
8 years after Rimuru was found
Finally, the time has come. Today is the day I will see if I have any talent for combat, so I can support Father in the war. I hope I have talent for sword fighting or magic; the main thing is that I can do something to support Father. As I woke up with these thoughts, I got out of bed to wake up Nasuada once I got dressed. When I entered Nasuada's room and tried to wake her up, the first words she said were, "Just 5 more minutes." Then I said, "Come on, Nasuada, today is the big day. Today we will see if we are talented with the sword or if we can cast cool spells." When Nasuada heard Rimuru say this, she finally woke up and said, "Alright, but can you go ahead? I won't be late." I then left Nasuada's room and went to the training ground.

Third Person Point of View:

When Rimuru entered the training room, she sat down on a bench and waited for Nasuada and their trainers. She waited for about 5 minutes until Nasuada entered the training room. "Do you know who our trainers are, Nasuada?" asked Rimuru.

"I only know the sword trainer; it's Orik, the dwarf who was adopted by the Dwarf King. There are also only two mages who know enough to teach others—the twins," replied Nasuada. As if on cue, the twins and Orik entered the room.

"Today is the day you'll finally see if you have talent for sword fighting or magic," said Orik. "You will first test if you can use magic. Take a stone each and say the words 'flauga'. Concentrate on making the stone float. Imagine the magic as a river and direct it to the stone," said one of the twins.

For Rimuru, it worked on the third attempt, while Nasuada couldn't get it to work, which made her look disappointed. "The ability to use magic is very rare, Nasuada. It's okay that you can't use it," Rimuru said to Nasuada.

"I know, Rimuru," Nasuada replied.

"You have great talent, Rimuru. Being able to cast your first spell on the second attempt without being in a dangerous situation is impressive. After training with Orik, we will teach you the Ancient Language," said one of the twins. Rimuru just nodded and followed Orik and Nasuada, who had already gone ahead to fetch the wooden swords. When Orik began the training, he showed Rimuru and Nasuada the basic sword styles and fundamental handling of the sword. As with magic, Rimuru showed great talent, while Nasuada did not, which frustrated her.

After the training, Rimuru and Nasuada were exhausted and went to their beds.

For the remaining eight years, nothing particularly special happened. Rimuru developed extremely well in both swordsmanship and magic, becoming the best among the Varden, while Nasuada developed more into a strategist rather than a fighter.
