**Rimuru POV:**

When I saw the dragon attacking the building, I was confused. Why would a dragon attack the prison where the elves were captured? A dragon as large as that one couldn't carry four people. So why was it attacking? I thought it didn't concern me because I could check it out myself the next morning. So, I set up my camp and made a small fire. When I looked back at the building where the dragon had been, I no longer saw it. I searched for it but couldn't find it. I gave up, and suddenly, the dragon landed next to me. On its back were two boys my age and a sleeping elf. "Who are you?" one of the boys asked. "Why don't you tell me who you are first, and why only one of the three elves is with you," I said to the two boys. "I am Eragon, this is Saphira, and this is Murtagh. As for the elf, she was the only one in the prison," said Eragon. "Alright, I am Rimuru of the Varden. I am actually here with a group to rescue the elves, but I got lost," I said. "Okay, but why do you have to go with the group? Do the Varden send teenagers into war?" Murtagh asked me. I thought he doubted my strength or maturity. "First of all, I am just as old as you. Secondly, I could probably take both of you on at the same time," I said to them. "... ... ..." Then they both laughed at me. I had enough of their arrogance and said the words, "Brisingrbröllr," sending a fireball at them, which silenced them instantly. They reached for their swords, and so did I, and our mock battle began.

**Third POV:**

When the mock battle began, Eragon and Murtagh moved in different directions to attack Rimuru from both sides, but Rimuru anticipated this and went toward Eragon. They crossed swords, and Rimuru kicked Eragon in the stomach, spinning 180° towards Murtagh. She crossed blades with him as well and tried the same trick, but Murtagh had anticipated it and blocked the kick with his shin. He then kicked her legs while Rimuru grabbed his sword hand. Rimuru fell due to Murtagh's kick, and Murtagh also fell because Rimuru held onto his hand, landing on Rimuru. Realizing the situation, Rimuru blushed, and so did Murtagh, who quickly got off her. Eragon got back up, unaware of the incident, but Saphira saw everything and said nothing. "How did you learn to fight so well? Murtagh and I are both very skilled fighters. I never thought anyone other than an elf or a Shade could defeat us so quickly," said Eragon, full of admiration. He then told his story of how he found Saphira's egg, left his village, lost his mentor and friend, was captured, and then freed. As his story was relatively long, everyone grew tired and went to sleep.

**Rimuru POV:**

When I woke up, it was the middle of the night. I was awakened by a noise that sounded like a cracking egg and came from the stone I found in the river. I watched the stone for a bit and saw that it was slowly cracking. A small silver creature with wings and a tail emerged. The creature moved slowly towards me, and I reached out my hand to it. When we touched, it felt like my blood was boiling and my skin freezing. I writhed on the ground in pain. When the pain stopped, I saw in the darkness, where the creature had touched me, the mark of the Dragon Rider. As I saw it, I realized I was a Dragon Rider, and the creature from the stone was a dragon that didn't yet have a name. "So, what do you want to be called, little one? Maybe Ciel?" As I said that, the dragon shone with joy. "So, Ciel it is," I said and went back to bed.
