13. Chips

I'm sitting against the wall with Fia asleep on my lap. Jasper radioed to tell us about some sort of chips and that Arkadia isn't safe. I don't understand what any of that means.

I hear Monty and Sinclair talking about them, but I'm too busy thinking. I don't know where I stand with Bellamy. I look up at him sitting on the other side of the cave. He's looking down at his hands also thinking so I look back down. Part of me hates him for killing the 300 and betraying me but the other part still loves him.

"They're here." I hear from outside. I run out and see the Rover pull in. Clarke steps out and suddenly remember Lexa's death and start feeling immense guilt for being upset at her for staying.
"We need help. We have to get her inside before she wakes up!" Jasper yells carrying Raven.
"Were you followed?" I ask.
"I don't know, maybe." Jasper says as Bellamy grabs Raven.
"Get to the ridge. Radio if you spot anyone following." I say to Bryan. "Harper, Miller stay on watch." I say before following the group into the cave.

"Clear some space." I say as Sinclair runs over to do so.
"What the hell happened to her?" He asks looking at her.
"I told you on the radio, Raven is not Raven anymore. None of them are. Jahas chipping everyone."
"Jaspers right. I've seen it with my own eyes." Clarke says.
"I don't need your help, alright?" Jasper yells.

I grab his arm.
"Hey. Relax and explain." I say looking at him carefully. We don't need him lashing out too.
"Jaha's using the chips to control everyone. You swallow it and it changes you. You forget everything and see this thing, Allie. Only, she's not really there. She made Raven slit her own wrists. She was trying to get her to get out of her head. I was trying to help her but—." How the hell does a chip do that to someone?
"Okay, so we help her now. Did she say how?" Sinclair asks.
"She was working on building something. She needed one of her old wristbands but Jaha destroyed them all." He says and I sigh. How the hell are we gonna get a wristband?

"Wait a second." Clarke says reaching into her pocket to pull out a small chip with an infinity sign on it. "Does it look like this?"
"Not exactly." Jasper says.
"What the hell is that?" I ask staring at the chip.
"The flame."
"Wait. Ontari doesn't have the flame?" I ask feeling dread rush over me.
"No. We need another Natblida."
"We'll find one." I say quickly before glancing at Fia who's still asleep on the other end of the cave. I won't let anyone put that thing in her.

Raven jumps up and punches Jasper before starting to run.
"Don't let her get away!" Clarke yells as I start running after her.

"Hey. It's just woods. I can't see anything." Raven yells. I grab her arm as she screams. The others come up around her grabbing her as well. "Let me go!" She screams.
"If Raven finds out where we are, so will Alie. She'll come for her." He says. I grab her arms pulling them back as she starts fighting me on them. Jasper injects her with something. "Reaper stick. Last dose."

"We have to go." Clarke says.
"Why? Alie doesn't know where we are." Bellamy says.
"Because I know where we can get a wristband." She says.
"Then let's go." I say. We run inside to get our things. I lift Fia up and carry her to Arion making her wake up.

"We're leaving, you're okay." I say to her softly.
"Nova." I hear Bellamy say behind me. I turn around to face him. "She can ride in the Rover." I look down at Fia. "She's half asleep, Nov. She can sleep inside." I nod. She's falling asleep just standing there.
"Go with Bellamy." I say to her. She walks over to Bellamy who picks her up.
"I won't let anything happen to her, relax." He says smiling softly noticing the worry on my face.
"I know. I'm just.."
"Mother's instinct?" He asks and I nod.
"Yeah. She's my kid." He smiles and turns around.

"Wait, Bellamy." I say running up to him. He stops and faces me. "Clarke needs a Natblida for the flame. Fia's one. The only way that thing will ever touch her is if Fia wants it to, but she doesn't." I say starting to fear her trying to put the flame in her while in the rover.
"Nothings going to happen to Fia. I promise." He says and I nod turning around to get on Arion.
