I open my eyes and sit up looking around frantically. I can see light peering in through cracks on the walls around me. I notice everyone start to wake up as well.
"Where the hell are we?" Bellamy asks as we all force ourselves to our feet. My mind feels foggy as I scan the area looking for the familiar bright red hair.

I walk over to Fia who's looking around nervously.
"My swords gone." Octavia says. Instantly, I check for mine only to have the same result.
"Guns, too." Jasper says.

I help Fia up as Octavia starts to pound on the metal. I hear a noise and turn to see it being opened. It's so bright, but I can see the silhouette of a girl walk in.

"Luna." Octavia says. I step forward to look at her better.
"Where's Lincoln?" She asks.
"Lincoln is dead." Octavia responds and I can feel my breath sharpen at the harshness of her tone.
"He said you'd help us." Clarke says.
"Luna, you're the last of your kind. The last nightblood." I lie. If she knows Fia's one, I doubt she'll help us.
"So Lexa's dead as well."
"Her spirit has chosen you to become the next commander. Titus entrusted me with the Flame to give to you." Clarke adds.
"Then he should've told you that I left my conclave, swearing to never kill again."

I glance over at Bellamy starting to wonder what causes someone to do that.
"You don't have to kill. To lead is your birthright, how you lead is your choice. Here." Clarke says walking over to her.
"I recognize the sacred symbol, but what is that?" Luna asks.
"This is the flame. It holds the spirits of the commanders, of Lexa. Will you take it and become the next commander?" Clarke asks. I start to beg internally for her to agree as she stares at it.
"No." She answers turning around. I sigh.

"Wait!" I yell chasing out after her but end up freezing once I realize we're above water, in the middle of it. "Oh shit." I mutter to myself.

"Go inside." Luna says turning to us before continuing to walk.
"Might as well." Jasper says walking in. I sigh before following after him into a separate section. It's dimly lit and filled with people, some who are giving speeches. We sit down and start to wait for something to happen. I'm not even sure what to expect.

"Everywhere I looked, there were fins. And teeth. And blood. I knew if they saw me I'd be next, so I floated here, waiting, praying they'd swim on." A girl says giving a speech.
"She's here. Maybe she changed her mind." Bellamy says causing me to look over at the door where Luna is walking in. We stand up to meet her halfway.

"The boats return at nightfall. Then you leave. Forever." She says.
"Luna, let us explain." Clarke tries.
"I said no."
"Look, you need to hear this." I say. She turns to me. "There is something out here that is going to destroy us all."
"Whatever it is, it can't reach us here." She says before walking off.

I turn to Bellamy and Clarke trying to think of a plan. Just forcing it onto her is wrong, but she doesn't want it.

I sigh before going to sit down against the wall leaving Bellamy and Clarke to walk to Octavia and Fia.

After a few minutes I hear footsteps coming towards me and look up to see Luna. She sits down next to me.
"I wanted to talk alone." She says casually. I wait for her to continue. "Nova Gales, the princess of death herself. Strange because you don't look like killer."
"I don't?" I ask not really knowing what one would look like. She shakes her head.
"You have kind eyes. They're tired though."
"I've seen too many of the people I care about die." I explain keeping my voice low.
"The little one, is she yours?" She asks looking up at Fia. I nod.
"Something like that." I smile.
"You'd protect her right?" She asks.
"I'd kill everyone on earth for her."
"Now you sound like a killer."

"We need your help, Luna." I say pulling my eyes away from Fia to look at her.
"You need a warrior. I'm done fighting." She says causing me to chuckle in disbelief.
"Choosing to stop fighting doesn't cause peace, when it can save people." I say before getting up and stepping away.
