                                              The prince's accent

Mike Douglas was originally cast as Prince Charming, and still did his singing voice.
He was gonna do his speaking dialogue, but he had the wrong dialect for what Walt wanted. 
Mike was born in Chicago and spoke with his natural Illinois accent when he auditioned. 
At least Walt let him do the singing while William Phipps did the dialogue. 
That's compromise for ya, I guess.
