DISCLAIMER FOR THIS CHAPTER! Most of this chapter is the cannon conversation between Char and Mia after Mia was fired, there will be more mentions of cannon events however they will not be word for word scripts like this chapter is. The only reason that I've done this chapter is so that there is more context for the story. I promise that from now on there won't be full on word for word dialogues. Thank you for understanding. Happy reading! :)

(Mia's POV)

"Anyways, now that we've got that all cleared up, I'm gonna go. There's somebody I wanna go have a chat with" I say, walking out of the office to talk to Char who is waiting out in the corridor anxiously, biting at her nails. She doesn't even notice me behind her so I decide to speak first.

"Hi, Charlotte" I say causing her to turn around. "Sweetheart, you don't have to bite all your pretty nails off, it's okay" I grab her wrist and gently pull her hand away from her mouth.

I stand there for a second admiring her hands before coming back into reality.

"I'm not mad at you" I say softly, smiling at her slightly.

"How can you not be mad? You just lost your job because of me" she questioned.

"Because, you finally grew a backbone, truthfully I'm happy to have been the one that you did it for" I told her.

"I don't understand you, you're so nice to me but I overheard what they just said in the office, you took money from their dad to torment them." She said.

"I did, only because I thought I was gonna be getting something in return" I said.

"What could you possibly have wanted to warrant putting them through that?" She asked.

"Why don't we go somewhere a bit more private to have this conversation? I'll tell you everything you want to know" I said.

She nodded slightly and I once again grabbed her wrist, bringing her into one of the rooms. I told her the whole story about my dad and Roger's manipulation and she asked me questions about the situation and why I was so mean to everyone and I told her everything.

"And what about me?" She asked after everything.

My eyes widened slightly. "I never did anything to hurt you" I said.

"Exactly." She replied. "Why have you been nice to me?"

I stand there confused for a moment before I realise why she's asking.

"You think I had an ulterior motive?" I ask.

She shrugs before replying.

"Given everything else I know about you, can you blame me?" She says.

I smile at her for a moment.

"No ulterior motives with you. Char, I just like you." I say.

She stands in disbelief for a second and tucks her hair behind her ear, obviously flustered or embarrassed.

"But I definitely don't deserve to have you, so I need to work on that." I continue.

"Mia, you can't have me, I'm married." She says.

"Are you saying if you weren't , I could have you?" I ask.

She stands there silently pursing her lips as she realises I've caught her out.

"You just said a whole lot without uttering a word." I say, looking her up and down. "That's good to know for when I come back"

She turns towards me again, eyes widened.

"What do you mean come back? You can't come back. You don't work here" she says.

"When I come back for you." I reply simply and turn away.

"Wait, Mia, one more thing." She says, making me turn back around.

"Yeah?" I say.

"Why didn't you say anything in the office, about the accident form? All they had to do was really look at it, and they'd see it was my handwriting." She blurts out quickly.

"Truthfully, I was so proud of you. Plus, I wouldn't do that to you anyway, but while we're on the subject of looking at you.." I start, causing her eyes to widen. "If these people that you adore so much actually took the time out of their own lives to do that, they'd see what I saw."

"What are you talking about?" She questions.

"That switching your wedding ring to flirt with me was the closest you've come to being actually brave enough to actually taking it off." I say, looking down at her hand.

Her eyes widen in shock as she realises I know her big secret.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone" I reassure her. "That'll be our little secret."

I wink at her before walking out of the room and making my way out to the car park. As I open the door to my car and start to get in I see Charlotte running out of the nursery towards me.

"Sweetheart?" I question. "Is everything okay?"

She pants as she reaches my car and takes a second to breathe before starting.

"How did you know?" She asks.

"Because I know you, Char." I state simply.

"We barely talk though?" She questions.

"You don't need to talk to observe, sweetheart." I say and get in the driver's seat of my car. "I've got to go now, but I'll keep in touch."

"Go where?" She asks.

"I've got to sort a few things out, I'll be back as soon as I can" I answer.

She nods before putting her hand on the top of my car door.

"Bye, Mia" She says.

"Bye, sweetheart" I reply, starting the engine.

She closes my door and steps back. I reverse out of the parking spot and roll down my window.

"Baby, I'm so proud of you" I say to her.

She blushes slightly.

"Thank you." She replies.

I smile at her and put my window back up, I take a moment and then drive out of the car park.

I wish I didn't have to leave her behind.
