(Mia's POV)

I went into the house and found Char asleep on the sofa with the TV playing. I decided to go straight into the kitchen and make her a coffee instead of disturbing her straight away. I put the kettle on and sat at the kitchen island. I wasn't sure how Char would react to my plan but I knew I had to tell her, I just hope she won't react badly.

The kettle had finished boiling and I made up Char's coffee, I put in an extra bit of caramel and then took it into the living room.

"Hey, sweetheart" I said softly.

I kissed her on the forehead and she stirred slightly. Her eyes fluttered open and she smiled at me.

"Hi, how long have you been back?" She asked.

"Only long enough to make you this" I replied, gesturing to the coffee.

"Coffee! Thank you" She said, happily.

"You're welcome, sweetheart." I replied.

She took the coffee out of my hands and began to drink it.

"This is really good" She said.

I smiled at her and sat down beside her.

"Sweetheart, can we talk about something?" I asked.

Her expression turned into one of worry.

"Why? What's happened?" She questioned.

"I just need to tell you about something" I told her.

"Okay..What is it?" She said.

"Okay, so, you know that day when I drove you into the nursery and came in with you?" I started.

"Yes?" What about it?" She asked.

"Well, that day I went to speak to Chef, and basically we made a plan for one of Chef's friends in prison to... beat up Max's brothers." I said.

"Amelia! Why?" She questioned, sternly.

"Well, I wanted revenge for what they did to Carly." I told her.

"So you fought fire with fire? What the fuck, Mia?" She scolded.

"What else was I supposed to do? They had to pay for what they did!" I said.

"They were already in prison! Mia, I can't believe this." She yelled.

"Char, I thought you would've wanted this, for them to pay" I said.

"No, Mia! They were already being punished, you had no right to do that! I can't believe you'd do something like this! I don't even want to be around you right now! How could you do that?" She began to cry.

"They killed your best friend, Char! I did it for her, for you!" I told her.

"Get out!" She yelled.

"What?" I questioned.

"I said get out!" She shouted.

"This is my house!" I yelled back.

"I don't care, get out! I don't want to be around you." She cried.

"Char..I love you, I'm sorry." I said, tears began to well in my eyes.

She looked at me in a way she's never looked at me before. It was a look of disgust. It felt like a punch to the gut. I couldn't handle it, I turned around and left the living room, I ran upstairs to my room and slammed the door. I couldn't believe that she'd reacted like that, I thought she'd be pleased that I had avenged her best friend.

I rifled through my drawers and found some weed, I rolled a joint and started to smoke it. I needed to feel numb.
