for contex, everyone who didn't die in the infinity castle is now fighting muzan outside until the sun rises in order to kill him. now a couple of minutes in mitsuri thought she dodged a attack but she ended up not dodging but instead GETTING BOTH HER ARM CLOSE TO BEING CHOPPED OFF LIKE IM NOT JOKING THEY WERE HANGING BY A THREAD💔 now obanai goes to check on her and beings her to the kakushi but she want to continue fighting cus she feels like she did nothing and wants to contribute to the fight. obanai leaves her there to get taken care of and continues battling.
fast forward, the sun is beginning to rise and because muzan created some sort of shockwave (i haven't read the manga in a while so that might be inaccurate) and the shockwave wipes everyone out except for tanjiro so its 1v1. but everyone slowly begins to get back up starting with the hashira. everyone has extreme injuries and obanai was scratched across the face so he's now fully blind and is losing a lot of blood. now remember how i said mitsuri's arms were js barely hanging onto her own body. well she goes up to muzan and with her BARE STRENGTH ALONE RIPS OFF MUZAN'S ARM. LIKE I LOVE HER SO MUCH SHE IS SUCH A GIRLBOSS. BUT IN THE END MUZAN DIED AND WE GET MITSURI AND OBANAI'S DEATH SCENE😢
so it turns out they've always liked each other(as if we didn't notice)but the only reason why obanai didn't confess is because he felt his bloodline has too many flaws and completely despises them and he does want to share that same bloodshed and sin with her(again might not be accurate).but the thing is AS THEY'RE DYING IN EACH OTHERS ARMS THEY PROMISE TO GET MARRIED IN THE NEXT LIFE😭💕I SWEAR I CRIED SM WHILE READING THAT. AND THEY DID TOO. THEY'RE HAPPILY MARRIED WITH LIKE 6 KIDS OR SMTH AND OWN A RESTAURANT TOGETHER🫶
