January 10th, 2000 ~ Weapon X Facility, Alkali Lake:
It's been 5 years since we have taken Subject Delta into custody. Today is the day she receives the adamantium treatment (as previously used on weapon X) to finalize her weaponization. She will have no memory of the event after it is carried out, due to the immense pain it will cause. Weapon X's escape was only a minor setback for our program and will NOT happen again. Humanity's future is at stake and it is our responsibility to protect it.
- Major William Stryker, Creator of Project X.

The last 5 years were like a hellish fever dream for Tempest, battling against unconsciously being experimented on and against losing her damn mind.
The facility was on edge, not just because of what happened last time adamantium was implanted into a living subject, but because they knew how dangerous Tempest (Subject Delta) had gotten. Her mind was clouded with violent, animalistic, borderline feral thoughts that made her erratic and unpredictable. Her chamber.. or cell.. was a metal box made of thick steel that kept her unable to escape. Her body was held back by multiple heavy chains, clasped to her limbs and neck by more metal. Her face was covered by a thick steel muzzle, made to stop her from biting or screaming. She knew full well what they would do to her today, and she intended on fighting every step of the way. No matter what sedatives or weapons they threw her way, she would destroy every. Single. One of them.
The guard that entered her cell was met by a demonic gaze from Tempest, her wild green eyes wide and unblinkingly staring at him with what he could only describe as pent up rage. He approaches cautiously, a sort of injector gun gripped in one hand. She remains still, allowing him to approach. She wanted him close enough..
As soon as he was within range, Tempest whips one of the long chains restraining her around the guards neck.
"GHK!-" the guard made a choked noise as he felt the bones in his throat strain to stay together.
A yank, and then...* SNAP *
The guard falls to the floor, dead, and with a broken neck.
Tempest snatches a key from his body, and begins to unlock the many shackles that weighed her down. She slowly stands, nothing but raw hate and adrenaline fueled her to keep going. Before she steps into the hallway, she makes sure to stomp and break the injector gun the guard previously held.
Alarms blared and lights flashed as Tempest sprinted through hallways and rounded corners, desperately searching for an exit. Her tail twitches as she hears the yelling voices of guards and doctors.
She's so distracted, she barely notices the presence behind her.
A needle enters her skin and she falls unconscious again.
...she was so close..

When Tempest awoke, she immediately felt the grip of cold leather straps fastened to her body. She was surrounded by water, drills, and glass. The only thing that kept her from drowning was an oxygen tank screwed into an opening in her muzzle. She strains to look down at herself, marks were drawn all over her body, like small areas to puncture.
"You really thought it was that easy, Subject Delta?" A familiar voice spoke.
Major William Stryker.
"What is this?.. WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME!?" Tempest shrieks, violently writhing against the leather that restrained her. A sick feeling settled in her stomach, a reaction to the claustrophobic feeling of the water chamber.
"Struggling is only going to make this more painful, Little Tiger." Stryker spoke flatly, before turning and nodding to a doctor. The drills switch on, inching closer to the points drawn onto Tempest's body. Her breathing becomes more erratic, and panicked.
"It won't kill you, if you hold still." Stryker's voice was a fuzzy noise by the time the drills entered her flesh and made contact with her bones. Then, all Tempest could hear was the mechanical whirring of drills and her own agony. Tempest never knew hell on earth was achievable, but this kind of pain came dangerously close to that level of evil.
She could feel every ounce of the indestructible metal enter her bone marrow, spreading like a raging forest fire. Her screams were starting to cease as her heart rate became too fast to keep up with. Her blood pressure sky rocketed and her nerves felt like they were being simultaneously dipped in lava all at once. The procedure only lasted a minute or two but it felt like her entire 22 years of living was flashing before her eyes.
And then it stopped. And she was dead.. momentarily.
"Come back.. it worked last time.." Stryker said, holding his breath.
Beep.
"Her vitals are stabilizing sir!" A doctor shouts.
Beep. Beep.
"Blood pressure is rising to normal, Major." Another scientist reported.
She was back. And couldn't remember a thing.
And this made her more dangerous than before.
claws stretched and unsheathed from Tempest's fingertips and in a few quick flashes she sliced herself free. The glass shatters open and she pours out onto the floor, panting for fresh air. She scrambles to her feet, her eyes meeting Stryker's shocked expression before she sprinted off into the hallways.
"DO NOT LET HER LEAVE! I WANT HER ALIVE!" Stryker shrieked.
Blood and gutteral screams filled the hallways as Tempest rampaged, slicing open anyone whoever stood in her way. The gore was unimaginable as internal matter was ripped from the bodies of guards and doctors that tried to stop her.
And then she found a door.
An exit.
Freedom.
She rips the door open, and was met with freezing winds and snow. Pine trees stood tall into the white, clouded sky. Flurries soon became a thick storm of snow that left speckles of ice on the metal floor that separated Tempest from the outside. It was vaguely familiar, this terrain, and Tempest felt a sense of Deja Vu as she stared out into the cold.
She looks down at her feet, and cautiously steps forwards into the snow. Her bare feet didn't feel cold, just wet as she breaks out into a run. The feeling of the wind in her hair gave her a rush of adrenaline she hadn't felt for years. The good kind of rush that made her run faster, because she could.
She would never have to be someone else's pet ever again.
Ever.
