Shadows, pov... in Tails house

"Just what do you guys think you're doing?"

Tails had just walked in, and I had felt a tidal wave of guilt that was sort of overwhelming. I couldn't help but have an uneasy look on my face.

Disgusting.

Tails looked over all three of us, including Faker, who was still on the floor. "Are you guys... okay?" He asks that when I notice that Silver has the same guilty expression. "I was-we noticed-the door-and huge" Silver students. Feeling the guilt subside a bit, I started to explain, "We were trying to escape. How did you know we were awake?" "Well, it's easy to know when you're all awake, accounting for how loud you were," Tails said with a sigh."Well, it's a good thing you're here! I would like an explanation of how Eggheads got us so small." Faker yelled from below. I looked down. He was still sitting on the white pillow. "Yeah, about that..." Tails started to scratch the back of his head. I can already tell it's not good. "Before we get to the bad news, can I get back to bed?" Faker yelled from below. A bead of sweat rolled from the side of Tail's head as he bent down to pick him up with his hands under Sonic's shoulders. I gave out a chuckle, seeing Faker being held like a baby. Unfortunately, he noticed.

"HEY, IT'S NOT FUNNY!" Faker yelled and then spat his tongue out at me. I frowned and did the same thing, but I quickly noticed what I was doing and put it back in my mouth. It's too late.

"Did Shadow just -" was all he could get out before he started laughing along with the blue faker that had just gotten set down beside Silver. By now, we had scotched back to the board of the bed. "Stop it, stop it!" I yelled, but they wouldn't listen. I felt like crying. 'Crying? Me? The ultimate life form? No.' It was just that simple. I didn't cry. At least not anymore. 'So why do I feel my eyes burning?' I can't let them see me cry. It's just not my nature. I am the first thing that comes to mind.

"SHUT UP!" I yelled, and they finally stopped. Both surprise and... Was that a scared expression on their faces? I couldn't help but feel a little pity. No, what am I thinking? This is Faker and Snowpuff I'm thinking about. What has been going on with me? This is all so confusing. I turned to Fox-boy for answers and saw him observing us with a worried expression. Oh, great. Just when things couldn't get worse.

Sonic turned towards Tails. "What's up?" Faker asked, of course, seeing the worried look on his younger brother's face. "Alright, I need to tell you guys the real reason I'm here." Part of me wanted to respect him as if he were an adult to me. But the other part just wanted to cross my arms and look away while showing as few signs as possible that I was listening. This tug-of-war game my brain is playing is getting on my nerves. "Explain," I said, simply holding back a growl of frustration at it. "Alright, I'll tell you what happened... but I had to leave with Amy, so I heard half of this from Knuckles and Rouge," he said with a shrug. "So after I decoded the door, and we all

Knuckles' pov... at Eggman's base 6-7 hours before.

Rouge had just told Amy and Tails to leave. Probably for the best, although we could use the help we needed to get Sonic Silver and Shadow safe. Speaking of getting Shadow safe, Rouge still had Shadow in her hands, flying around to dodge one of the blasts that Eggman was firing at us with his shrink ray.

This was not one of our best rescues. We needed a plan.

"Rouge!" I yelled after ducking under one shot and side-stepping under the next. "Already on it, Hun," she says as she shifts the tiny shadow into one of her arms and lifts me with the other. "Got a plan?" she asked. "Yep," I said as a quick plan popped into my mind. "You distract him while I destroy his shrink ray." Then she asked something I wasn't expecting: "What about the chaos emeralds?"
