I had invited Rowan over earlier, so she should be here soon. Ever since we made up, we've been inseparable. I want us to always be like that. Because I love her. I just have to find the right way to tell her.

Yesterday I went to the mall and got Rowan a sweatshirt that says, "I'm taken so back off" not sure she'll like it so much, but I love it.

I told her to come at 4:00 and its 4:00 now. She should be here any minute.

20 minutes passed and she still wasn't here. I started to worry so I text her:

Peyton😎💪: Hey Row, you coming?

Nothing.

Another 30 minutes passed. Where was she? It's not like her to stand me up or anything, and if something made her late, she would've texted me.

Then I got a text from Sabrina.

Sabrina✌🏼️💙: Go to the hospital now!!!

Peyton😎💪: WHAT!!?? WHY!!??

Sabrina✌🏼️💙: there was a fire on set. No one was there except...

Peyton😎💪: Except who???!!!

Sabrina✌🏼️💙: Rowan.

My heart drop to the floor and shattered into a million pieces. I ran out the door and flew into my car and drove. I probably past the speed limit by 20 but I didn't care.

Once I got to the hospital, I rushed in. I found Rowan's family, Sabrina, and Corey all sitting in the waiting room. I rushed over to them.

"How is she?" I asked in a rushed voice, scared of the answer.

"We don't know yet. But we do know she was in the fire for a while, past out, until Brian found her." Rowans mom explained.

"B- Brian?" I asked.

"Yeah, he told us he went to the set to pick up something and then he found Rowan lying there. He picked her up and carried her out." She said.

As much as I hated Brian, I had to thank him for saving the love of my life.

"Where is he?" I asked.

"Talking to one of he nurses." She pointed me to him and I walked over.

"Hey Peyton," Brian said nervously, looking at the ground.

"I need to thank you for saving Rowan." I said.

"Yeah, uh, sure. I uh, gotta go. Bye." He quickly walked away. What's his problem?

I didn't care.

I asked one of the nurses if I could see Rowan and she actually said visiting hour just started.

She showed me to Rowans room the shut the door.

I was stunned by Rowans appearance: burns everywhere. Cuts, bruises, all down her body. It made me want to fall to my knees and cry. But I didn't. I had to stay strong, for her.

I found a chair, by her bed, and sat down. She was sleeping, but I think I woke her up. I felt bad.

"Ouch. Oh, uh, hey Peyton." She plastered on a fake smile through the pain.

"Hey Row," I grabbed her hand. "How yah feeling?"

"To tell you the truth, I feel like my body is on fire. Still." She explained, examining all her burns.

"Want me to grab a nurse-"

"No!!! No" She said quickly.

What's so bad about getting a nurse?

"Why not?" I asked, confused.

"It's just, I want them to think I'm getting better. And if they think I'm in pain, they won't let me leave." She stated, with winces of pain every few words.

"Woah, woah, who said anything about leaving? Rowan, you just got in here. Have you seen all your burns and cuts? These need to heal."

"Yeah, but I want to go home. I don't wanna be here. The feeling, it just makes me, sad, and uncomfortable." Tears started rolling her cheeks. "No, I can't cry." She said wiping the tears away.

"And why not?"

"Because the tears burn my face." She answered.

"Which is why you need to stay. You'll get better here." I said.

The nurse walked in and said, "Hours over." It's been an hour?

Rowan started crying again. "Don't go." She squeezed my hand.

"I'm sorry Mam, he has to." The nurse said.

"I'll be right outside the door, Row." I said, trying to make her stop crying.

"Ok."

I kissed her forehead, very lightly, then walked away.
