{ Authors note: Dear readers,
thank you all so much for the reads, votes, and comments. They mean so much to me!!! But I'm sorry to say but after chapter 29, this book is officially over. I was originally going to end it with chapter 28 but many requested for an update. So I hope you enjoy the final chapter of 'You and I' }Peyton's POV
-2 years later-
Life was good. I could feel it. Deep down in the pit of my stomach I used to always have this unsettling feeling. That I was empty, or unfinished in a way. Incomplete.
But now that feeling is gone.
Everyday is started with a coffee from Starbucks. But not for me, because I utterly hate the taste of their coffee. I'm a Dunkin kind of guy. I only go to Starbucks to get Rowan's usual: Grande Java Chip Frappe.
This errand alone gets me in a good mood. Just the fact that I have someone special to get their usual for makes happier than ever.
Next I walk down to the family owned flower shop to get Rowan a single rose, as she told me a thousand times was her favorite romantic gesture.
Finally I get to work where awaits Corey, my right hand man, Sabrina, the one who seems always have a trick up her sleeve to play on me, and of course, Rowan. The undoubtably brightest part of my day.
She ran up to me in a hug, the kind that is so deep you feel like you haven't seen the person in ages. But really we had seen each other the night before.
I picked her up and swung her around, making her laugh.
I set her down. "You're late." She said with smile.
"Sorry, I had a few stops to make. Oh, here's your Java." I said as I handed her the coffee.
"Thankyou Peyton." She said with a light kiss on my cheek.
"Oh and I almost forgot your rose." I handed her the red flower.
As she went to grab it, I quickly pulled it out of her grasp.
"Ah ah ah... You have to do something for me first." I teased.
She sighed with a smirk. "What do you want?"
"You have to repeat after me. Ok?"
"Ok."
"I Rowan Blanchard promise to always love Peyton Meyer, even if he forgets the coffee and rose."
Rowan laughed playfully as she held her hand up: "I Rowan Blanchard promise to always love Peyton Meyer, even if he forgets my coffee and rose."
"Ok here you go." I finally gave her the rose.
I watched as she did the same thing every morning; sniff the flower, then tip toe to her dressing room to add it to her vase.
She came back out with a cup of hot coffee from Dunkin Donuts. I knew she didn't forget.
"And here you go..." She said sweetly.
"Thank you Row." I replied.
"And no, I did not forget your Snickers." She reached into her Jean pocket and revealed my favorite chocolate bar in the whole wide world.
"You know me too well. Seriously, it's kinda freaky." I said with a wink.
"Me? Your the one who somehow managed to get the perfect cup of java every morning even though I never seem to be able to get one myself." Rowan said.
"Really? How sad." I grabbed her by the waist and pulled her close. "Rowan, guess what?" I asked as she placed her arms around my neck.
"What's that?" She said.
"I love you."
"And do you know what?" She said unwrapping her arms from me.
"I love you more." And right on her last word, she sprinted back to her dressing room giggling and closed the door.
"NOOOOO YOU DONT!" I screamed after her with a smile.
And then we'd sit down on the ground, only separated by and door and fight over who loved who more. I won of course, but Rowan just had a rough time accepting that.
Then came the next day, and the next day, and years to come. I got Rowan's coffee, she got mine. I got Rowan's rose, she got my Snickers bar. And yes, same as every relationship, we had obstacles around every corner. But in the end, where I think it really counts, we were left with more memories than we could ever imagine.
