(Sophie's POV)

I jumped up from my seat and sprinted on to the field, heading straight for Keefe.

"Keefe, are you okay?" I choked out, brushing some of his hair away from his face. That's when I noticed the back of his head was bleeding. My eyes widened as a crowd surrounded us.

I grabbed my phone and dialed 911. I checked his pulse and sighed with relief when it held strong and steady. After explaining everything, they told me an ambulance was coming.

"Sophie, you know, Keefe wasn't-" Fitz tried.

"Go away, Fitz. You've done enough." I whispered.

"But-"

"Just stop!" I exclaimed. "You've ruined my life enough. Just leave me alone."

Before he could respond, the ambulance appeared, and a bunch of the football guys on Keefe's team helped put him on a stretcher. I jumped in beside him.

Once we were at the hospital, they insisted that I stay in the waiting room.

After about two hours of waiting, a nurse came and told me I could see him.

She opened the door to the hospital room, and I covered my mouth with my hands as I saw him. His head was wrapped in bandages, and there were a couple of bruises all over him. His eyes were closed and his expression was peaceful.

"I'll let you have a moment." The nurse whispered before leaving.

I stepped closer as tears filled my eyes. "Keefe?" I asked quietly, my voice breaking.

He didn't move.

Now I was beside his bed. There were tiny bits of his hair sticking out from the bandages. I brushed them out of his face and kissed his forehead.

"I miss you." I whispered.

I watched his chest rise and fall with each breath. Then his breathing seemed to quicken. I stared at his face, sending a silent plea through the air as my eyes closed. When they opened, I saw Keefe's eyelids flutter slowly.

His eyes opened. He blinked once. Then his beautiful ice blue eyes focused on me.

"Keefe!" I exclaimed happily, throwing my arms around him and hugging him.

"Who's Keefe?" He asked, confused.

I stared at him in confusion as well.

"Who are you?" He whispered.

"Keefe, don't play with my emotions like that! You've had me worried sick!" I exclaimed, my voice becoming annoyed.

He stared blankly at me.

My eyes widened as dread filled my gut. The words were barely audible as I said, "You... You don't remember me?"
