Meanwhile,In the Heaven Realm, a serene garden nestled between the clouds, Yue Lao, the ancient Chinese god of marriage and love, sat on an intricately carved stone bench.
His weathered face was creased with concern as he observed the unfolding drama in one of the dimensions in the mortal realm below. His eyes, filled with the wisdom of millennia, focused on Wang Linxue.
The god's long, white beard swayed gently in the breeze as he sighed. He had brought countless souls to new dimensions, guiding them towards better lives and their destined soulmates.
But Wang Linxue's case was a bit different. The goddess's interference was unprecedented, causing more stress and confusion than Yue Lao had ever intended.
Beside him, his assistant god, paced back and forth, his youthful face contorted with annoyance. "That meddling goddess!" He spat out, his voice echoing through the tranquil garden. "May her hair turn to snakes and her tea always be cold!"
Yue Lao shook his head at his assistant's outburst, a small smile playing on his lips despite the gravity of the situation.
Undeterred, the god continued his tirade. "And Wang Linxue! Didn't she learn anything as she grew up? How can she allow herself to be manipulated so easily? I thought I taught her better than that before I left her! Amnesia or not, she should be better than this."
At this, Yue Lao chuckled softly. "She is still the same at her core. That is both her strength and her weakness."
Rising from his seat, Yue Lao's red robes trailed behind him as he approached a shimmering fountain. The water's surface rippled, showing glimpses of Wang Linxue's life in her new world. His reflection in the water seemed to age and grow younger with each ripple, a reminder of his timeless nature.
" Since that goddess has interfered once again," Yue Lao mused, his voice carrying the weight of his decision. "We shall help Wang Linxue one last time. After this, the goddess will no longer be able to meddle. And by the heavens I will make sure of it across all the other dimensions."
His assistant god perked up, his earlier frustration giving way to curiosity. "What do you have in mind, Master?"
Yue Lao waved his hand over the fountain, and the image of Xi Jinwei appeared, then another image, a faint glow of an opal necklace appeared.
"If Xi Jinwei grows close enough to Wang Linxue again, if he trusts her enough to show her the opal necklace, she will remember everything," Yue Lao declared. "She will realize that she isn't bound by any rules and is free to live her life as she pleases."
The assistant god's eyes widened in understanding. He folded his arms and nodded approvingly. "This is a good way to help her without directly interfering, unlike the goddess's dream manipulation. It respects the laws of heaven while still giving Wang Linxue a chance."
Yue Lao smiled, pleased with his assistant's comprehension. "Indeed. We set the stage, but the actors must play their parts. Wang Linxue's fate now rests in her own hands and in the trust she builds with her soulmate."
As the two gods watched the fountain, the image shifted to show Wang Linxue at her desk, surrounded by gossiping colleagues but lost in her own thoughts. Yue Lao's eyes softened with compassion.
"May you find your way, dear child," he whispered. "And may you discover that the path to true happiness often lies in the journey itself, not just the destination."
With a wave of his hand, the fountain's surface stilled, and Yue Lao turned away. The garden around them seemed to pulse with renewed energy, as if the very flowers and trees were eager to see how this would turn out as well.
