The office hummed with the gentle tapping of keyboards and the low murmur of conversation floating around.

The Best Actor's movie Quan Fumin starring Nana was being released during this period and being the marketing team, they especially had to monitor the nitbits of the premiers, ticketing and even sales.

Yang Zhilan sat at her desk, her fingers flying over the keys as she worked on the latest project. Beside her, her colleague, Kevin, leaned in, pointing at something on her screen.

Sister Xin was supposed to help her but she was on sick leave.

"No, no, you need to adjust the margins here," Kevin said, his voice tinged with amusement. "Unless you want Supervisor Xi to think we're trying to save paper by cramming everything together."

Yang Zhilan chuckled,. "Heaven forbid we try to be eco-friendly. Supervisor. Xi might have a word with us soon."

Their easy banter filled the air, a pleasant backdrop to the busy office. Just as Kevin was about to make another joke, the door swung open with a bang. Supervisor Xi strode in, his face set in grim lines.

" Speak of the devil." Kevin muttered beside her and she laughed at that.

"Yang Zhilan," he called out, his voice sharp. "Come with me."

The laughter died on Yang Zhilan's lips. She exchanged a quick glance with Kevin, who shrugged, looking as confused as she felt.

"We'll finish this later," she murmured to him, rising from her chair.

As she followed Supervisor Xi to the elevator, Yang Zhilan's mind raced. The supervisor's tense posture and silence only added to her unease. When he pressed the button for the CEO's floor, her stomach dropped.

"Supervisor Xi, where are we going?" she couldn't help but ask.

He remained silent, his jaw clenched tight. The elevator ride seemed to stretch on forever.

When they finally reached the CEO's office, Supervisor Xi turned to her, his eyes filled with an emotion she couldn't quite place. Was it concern? Pity?

"Just... don't mess up," he said softly, before opening the door.

Yang Zhilan stepped inside, her heart pounding. The chair behind the imposing desk was turned away, facing the floor-to-ceiling windows that offered a view of the city.

"Mr. Xi?" she called out hesitantly. "You called for me?"

"My grandson is out for work," a slightly withered female voice responded, causing Yang Zhilan to start. "It's just you and me, Miss Yang."

The chair swiveled around, revealing an elegant elderly woman with sharp eyes and a stern expression. Xi Jinwei's grandmother.

"So," the old lady began, her voice cold, "you're the one who's been causing such a stir in the Xi Family. Trying to break up my grandson and Miss Song. He is even disregarding my advice and his grandfather's."

Yang Zhilan's eyes widened. "I... I'm sorry, but Mr. Xi never told me he was dating Miss Song."

The grandmother's eyes narrowed. "Is that so? Then tell me, girl, what have you been feeding my grandson to bewitch him so? Are you two in some sort of... promiscuous relationship?"

Yang Zhilan felt her face flush hot with embarrassment. "No! We... we haven't done anything like that. "

The old woman stood up, circling around the desk to get a closer look at Yang Zhilan. As she approached, her expression changed from one of suspicion to shock.
