The Basic Rules

Hey, SmackDowners!

Are you ready for the start? Not long to wait now... in the meantime, we thought we might share a few basic rules here.

🔥 the SmackDown runs over five rounds

🔥 each round, a given number of participants will be eliminated

🔥 each round will be split in two parts

🔥 for each part, your task will be to write a short story - or something similar

🔥 each entry shall qualify as speculative fiction

🔥 both parts will be judged and the scores added for round results

🔥 there may be bonus tasks that allow you to win an extra point

🔥 if needed, there might be tiebreaker rounds

🔥 your stories must be written in English

🔥 all entires must be new and written for this contest

🔥 judges remain anonymous, their decisions will be final

🔥 while this is a competition, the most important goal is to have fun

🔥 please help us create a spirit of positive collegiality

🔥 you may support each other and cheer each other on

🔥 and don't forget: you fight for the all-important bragging rights
