Cameron and Gracie found a dingy park nearby to eat their food. It wasn't the most welcoming location, but it was completely empty, and even better, completely silent. Cameron had been hit with a sudden wave of exhaustion sometime during their walk but she didn't want the night to end yet. She was thoroughly enjoying Gracie's conversation, the way she spoke was incredibly enticing and something about the way she looked at her made her stomach flip, but she didn't want her to stop doing that either. They sat down on one of those built in chess board tables, facing each other.

"I have a burning question." Cameron announced watching as Gracie took a sip of her drink.

"Hit me."

"What prompted you to get root beer?" Cameron asked, in a tone of extreme disgust.

"Are you joking? It's the best soda there is." Gracie said, a shocked expression plastered on her face.

"Now that's a joke."

"Here, try some." Gracie said, stretching her hand across the table and pointing the straw at Camerons lips.

Cameron obliged and leant forward, wrapping her lips around the straw and tasting the vile liquid. As soon as she swallowed she started coughing relentlessly, hand to her throat.

"Oh don't be so dramatic." Gracie said, rolling her eyes and recoiling.

"It's kind of in my job description." Cameron said, still coughing and taking a bite of her pizza.

Gracie laughed and leant back on the bench behind her, then furrowed her eyebrows, "You know tonight, you haven't asked me anything about work."

"Well doesn't everybody ask? Sometimes I want to have conversations where I can learn things about people I can't hear in an interview."

Gracie hummed, "That's not a bad point. Can I ask you about work?"

"Go for it. I'm an open book, you can ask about anything."

"Anything?" Gracie asked, quirking an eyebrow.

Cameron nodded, a little worried about the look on Gracie's face.

"You go out with so many people. Every week I'm reading about your new guy or girl. You can't seem to make it stick."

Cameron sighed, "Was there a question in there?"

Gracie seemed to realise she might've struck a nerve, but Cameron could tell she still wanted to know something. If she wasn't so tired, maybe she wouldn't have answered, but alas.

"Well, the short answer is I like having sex." Cameron joked, trying to lighten the mood.

Gracie started laughing and rolled her eyes, "What's the long answer?"

Cameron leant back on her bench and thought about it for a moment,  "I've never been in love. I think I have all these relationships to stop myself from thinking about it. But eventually I realise that I don't like half the people I go home with, and the ones I do like- I guess I'm just not a relationship kind of girl."

"Not a relationship girl?" Gracie asked.

"Nope." She said, running a hand through her hair, "And I tell everyone that before we do anything. Nobody expects to change me or whatever."

Gracie scoffed, "So what you're saying is you're just dammed to a life of eternal one night stands and you'll never be in a relationship."

"I guess." Cameron said, taking a sip of her drink, "What about you? Are you a girlfriend girl?"

"Yeah. Definitely. Not much good it's done me though, nothing has worked out for me yet." Gracie said.

Cameron paused and looked at her, "Why don't you think they've worked out?"
