Cameron spent the rest of her day in her office, trying to keep her mind off of everything that had happened earlier. She found things to do to keep her mind occupied, like create a meticulous schedule of all of her filming times coming up and book all of her flights to London and back for the next year. She even got up and organised all the books in her library by the Dewey Decimal system, Madeline came into the room while she was doing this and looked at her like she was going insane.

She wasn't going insane, at least not fully, only partially. Cameron found that by doing meaningless tasks like these she distracted herself from thinking about where Gracie was at this moment or what she was doing with Hayes. Cameron still felt awful about everything that had happened. How could she not? She intentionally said something that hurt someone she cared about all because of what? Because she was jealous that she was spending time with her ex? Cameron felt ridiculous, but there was nothing she could do right now.

At around 11PM, just when Cameron thought all hope was lost, she heard someone frantically ringing her doorbell and knocking at the door. Cameron was in the kitchen, making herself a drink, vodka and orange juice, an unappealing combination to some but one of Camerons favourites. She placed the bottle of vodka down on the counter and rolled her eyes at the incessant knocking.

"I'll be right there!" She called out, walking down the hallway and towards the front door.

Cameron wrapped her hand around the doorknob and swung the door open. Gracie was standing outside, dripping from the rain and looking furious. Cameron didn't know what to say, her mouth agape but no words coming out. Gracie clenched her jaw and placed a hand on Camerons chest, pushing her out of the way and storming in. Cameron watched her as she walked down the hallway, taking off her coat and tracking in a puddle of water. Cameron followed her quickly, extremely confused at everything that was going on.

"Gracie-" Cameron started as she followed her into the living room.

"Shut up." Gracie said as she spun around to glare at Cameron, "You don't get to talk right now. You have no right to."

Cameron swallowed, "Okay."

Gracie was breathing heavily and her eyes were narrowed on Camerons face, "Whatever it is you're doing I don't like it. I don't like it at all. I've been waiting for weeks for you to make a move and nothing. And then we almost kiss, twice! But then you start ignoring my texts and calls, leaving me with no idea as to what you could possibly be thinking so I'm sitting there in my house- crying over you while you do what? Oh I know what you do! You come over and convince me that everything's okay and I have nothing to worry about and you hold me and you tell me that nothings wrong but you still don't do anything! And then- I tell you I'm having dinner with my ex and you flip out and storm out of my house but not before you make me feel like an idiot for thinking that we were more than friends and worrying about you being okay."

Cameron thought her head was going to explode, "Gracie why don't-"

"I'm not done! The worst part of all of it is I still want you! For whatever fucking reason I do and the whole dinner and the whole time I'm talking to Hayes I'm sitting there wishing it was you! And it's not fair Cameron it's not fair at all that you just get to waltz into my life, make me think that there might be something between us and then treat me like shit for a week for what? Because of 'work'? That's bullshit Cameron you know it and I do so for the love of God would you please tell me what's going on-"

Cameron grabbed Gracie's waist and crashed their mouths together hard. Gracie was stunned for about two seconds until she moved her lips against Camerons, bringing one hand up to her face and the other to grip on her shirt. The kiss was messy and uncoordinated, Cameron pulling Gracie's waist close to her own and Gracie pulling her in closer by the shirt. Suddenly Gracie pulled away, pushing Camerons torso away from her slightly, but still holding onto Camerons shirt with her fist. Gracie and Cameron breathed heavily together, staring at each other as they pulled away. Gracie's lips were swollen and wet from the kiss and her eyes were fixated on Camerons own.
