Rome stood in the kitchen making some scones for the meeting, doubting the ever so enthusing Gemini would want them. Kitchen staff wasn't around for meeting purposes so she was lucky she knew how to cook or she was absolutely screwed. She placed them in the oven and dusted the flour off her maid uniform, hers adorn with some snowflakes, her own touch to the gown. A gold string on the collar, Lucifer's touch, a reminder she attended him day and night with sass and annoyance. She sighed as she cleaned her mess. As she did a bubbly and cheerful regular castle maid named Lily appeared in the kitchen.
"Hey Romeo!"
"Hello Lily" she sounded unenthused as the other lady walked into the kitchen, "a new nickname for me I see"
"Take it purely as an observation of your romantic life."
"I am lacking in one so how does Romeo fit me?" Rome asked as she cocked her head to the side.
"It doesn't need to fit you I also based it off your name" Lily gave her an adoring and charming smile, one Rome didn't fall victim to.
"Mhm" Rome hummed out as she walked to the sink with her dirtied items.
"Romeo, maybe you can get love somewhere, how about Rupert?"
"He is married and views his wife as a goddess down in Hell, not even a love potion will deter that man from his wife"
"Then what about the king?" She flashed a charming smile and wiggled her eyebrows.
"The king of arrogance? No thanks"
"Come on you have to like him a little bit."
"Except Lilian, I don't"
"Hey leave my real name out of this Roman" she ran a hand through her strawberry blonde hair that rested comfortably at her shoulders before hand, "but he's so attractive, that stubble and that red hair," she subtly, but not as subtle as she wished, bit her lip, "he's so hot"
Rome rolled her eyes as she washed the dishes.
"Hot? Interesting assessment, personally not mine though" Rome said and blew some of her blue hair out of her face.
"You don't think he's hot!?"
"Frankly I think he's an arrogant power pusher."
"Don't say that about the king!"
"Don't say what you said about the king then. He isn't hot dear, once you deal with his personality his appearance means nothing then"
"Rome! You can't say that!"
"But I have. I did."
"Roman! Lilian!" An elderly but intimidating woman's voice rang out causing the conversation to cease.
"Hmm?" Rome hummed.
Lily looked at the elderly woman who carried herself well though she was practically ancient, "yes Ezmerelda?"
"Don't you two have jobs to do?" Ezmerelda, the head maid asked with a commanding tone, she'd be scarier if she didn't carry a cane, or it makes her more threatening when she walks with it.
"I was just talking to Rome, about the king."
"Is that your job?"
"No..."
"Then I advise you to get along with yourself Lilian"
Lily sighed and left the kitchen returning to her duties. Rome continued washing dishes not making eye contact with the elder behind her.
"I hear Gemini is coming for some matters. Preparing for that occasion?"
"Yes ma'am"
"Good. Don't take too long, this is a castle not a social gathering." She left the kitchen her cane clicking at the ground with grace.
Rome sighed and glanced at the oven at her scones. She walked over to the oven and opened it to check on her scones. She bent at the waist to look in the oven, resulting in hearing a whistle at the doorway. She stood up right glancing to see who it was. Rupert's son, Edward, a decent boy sometimes but not when it mattered, unlike his father who saw woman as cherished beings and powerful beings, Edward felt they were playthings and his father attended the king too often and worshiped his wife's feet to notice how the boy turned out.
"Hello, Edward." She gritted her teeth as she took the scones out of the oven setting them down to cool on the stove top.
"Hello Roman~" his voice was sultry and desire laced, not matching the lack of enthusiasm in Rome's hello.
"What do you want?" She asked shutting the oven door.
"Oh nothing but the view you gave me a moment ago, that was rather lovely a sight."
Rome rolled her eyes and walked to a cabinet taking out a kettle, "go admire another woman in the castle"
"Why should I? None are as enchanting as you~" his voice came out like a purr.
The sound of his voice was annoying as was he. She could easily punch the scrawny boy in the face with no remorse on the matter but she refrained as she filled the kettle.
"Because I personally will have no problem dragging you to your father for a lecture in front of the king"
"Tch, my father couldn't care less"
"I know, but I can assure you I can make him" she turned off the water and placed the kettle on the stove top turning the water on and placing a teabag in the center of the kettle.
"Please. Like you could get my father to lecture me he couldn't care less" he walked over to her his strides confident and "dominant" as dominant as one can get from a 25 year old demon boy with an ego, "but you I can't help but care about you" he stopped in front of her a smirk on his face, "your body at least~"
