The next day, Wooyoung felt a surge of happiness as he walked over to San's room. San was in the middle of his daily checkup, but when he saw Wooyoung, a smile spread across his face. The nurse finished up and left them alone, allowing the two friends to strike up a conversation.
"Good morning, San," Wooyoung greeted cheerfully as he pulled up a chair beside San's bed.
"Good morning, Wooyoung," San replied, his eyes twinkling. "You seem in good spirits today."
Wooyoung nodded enthusiastically. "I am! I woke up thinking about our talk last night. It really made me realize how important it is to appreciate every moment we have."
San smiled warmly. "I'm glad to hear that. It's something we all need to remember, especially after everything we've been through."
Wooyoung leaned forward, his eyes bright with curiosity. "So, what are your plans for today, San? Any exciting goals for your recovery?"
San chuckled softly. "Well, today's goal is to take a few steps without the walker. The doctors say I'm making good progress, but it still feels like a challenge."
Wooyoung nodded in understanding. "I know what you mean. Every step feels like a victory, though, doesn't it?"
San agreed, "Absolutely. It's all about those small victories that add up to something bigger."
They talked about their progress and shared stories of their recovery journeys, laughing and encouraging each other. The bond between them grew stronger with each passing moment, and their conversations became a source of comfort and motivation.
San looked at Wooyoung thoughtfully. "You know, Wooyoung, I've been thinking a lot about what you said yesterday—about making the most of our second chance. I want to do something meaningful with my life now, something that can help others."
Wooyoung's eyes lit up. "That's a great idea, San! What do you have in mind?"
San shrugged, a hint of determination in his gaze. "I'm not entirely sure yet, but maybe something related to music or helping young people who are going through tough times. I want to use my experiences to make a difference."
Wooyoung smiled, feeling inspired by San's words. "I think that's amazing, San. And I believe you'll do great things. You've already inspired me so much."
San reached out and patted Wooyoung's shoulder. "And you've inspired me too, Wooyoung. We're in this together, remember? We'll figure it out, one step at a time."
Their conversation continued, filled with dreams and aspirations, as they both found strength in each other's presence. The road to recovery was long, but with their newfound friendship and determination, they knew they could face whatever challenges lay ahead.
San began his walk sessions with a mixture of determination and anxiety. Wooyoung, ever supportive, dragged his drip stand along, staying close to San and watching his every step with bated breath.
"Alright, San," Wooyoung encouraged, his voice filled with excitement, "you've got this. One step at a time."
San took a deep breath and gripped the walker tightly. He moved one foot forward, then the other, his legs trembling slightly but holding firm. With each step, Wooyoung's applause grew louder, echoing in the hospital corridor.
"Yes, San! You're doing it!" Wooyoung cheered, his face beaming with pride.
San smiled through his effort, feeling the burn in his muscles but pushing through the pain. The small victories Wooyoung had mentioned now felt monumental.
Step by step, San made his way down the hallway, Wooyoung following closely, his eyes never leaving San's progress. When San reached the end of the corridor, he turned around, a triumphant grin on his face.
