Play: " Lovely" by "Billie Eillish, Khalid"
Wooyoung woke up feeling drained and disinterested, his spirit heavy with the weight of the previous night's despair. He had hoped to pass away silently in his sleep, but as the morning light filtered into his room, he realized he was still alive. His head ached slightly as he tried to recall the dream he had.
In the dream, he found himself in a place of pure, unblemished white. It was as if he was in a room made of light itself, everything glowing softly around him. As he stood there, bewildered, a tall man dressed in white approached him, his presence serene and comforting. The man’s features were gentle, his eyes filled with an ethereal kindness. Wooyoung felt an inexplicable pull towards him, a sense of peace enveloping him.
“Who are you?” Wooyoung asked, his voice echoing in the vast white expanse.
The man smiled, his expression radiating warmth. “I am an angel, Wooyoung. I’ve come to speak with you.”
Wooyoung's heart ached as he looked at the angel. “I want to die. I don’t want to live with this pain anymore.”
The angel’s smile remained, but there was a depth of understanding in his eyes. “I know how much you’re hurting. But death is not the escape you think it is. It can be peaceful, yes, but it is also a path that cannot be undone.”
Wooyoung felt a tear slip down his cheek. “But I have nothing left. My parents are gone, my dreams are shattered. Why should I continue to suffer?”
The angel gently took Wooyoung’s hand, his touch light and comforting. “Let me show you something.” With a wave of his hand, the white room transformed. Wooyoung saw scenes of his life, both past and future. He saw moments of joy and sorrow, moments of love and loss.
" Look here, I'll show you your life. Look at the day you were born, your mother had carried you for nine months and endured the pain in that time period and also during giving birth to you. But when she saw you, she forgot all the pain, to her you were a flower that blossomed in her little garden. Then look here, this is where your mom and dad laughed and clapped when you said your first words and took your first steps. Then here, you held your dad's hand as he helped you walk around while your mom sat and smiled looking at you. Now here, look at how you held your mom and dad's hands smiling and giggling as they took you to your first school. Now here, you graduated middle school and then highschool. You fell in love with with music. It spoke to you, your mind and your heart. You discovered an artist. Choi San. You fell in love with him and his music. You became a huge fan of him. Now look here, you're on your way to your first concert of San. You're laughing and smiling and your parents are happy seeing you happy. Now look you're inside the stadium."The angel stopped and then looked at Wooyoung who's eyes filled with tears knowing what happened next.
The angel patted Wooyoung's head as he spoke:
"Life is filled with pain, Wooyoung. But it is also filled with beauty. The pain you feel now is a part of your journey, but it is not the entirety of it. You have been given a second chance for a reason. There are still moments of happiness, still people who can touch your heart and whom you can touch in return.”
Wooyoung watched as the scenes unfolded, showing him a future where he found new friends, new loves, and new purposes. The scenes were not without their struggles, but they were also filled with laughter and warmth.
“But what if I can’t handle the pain?” Wooyoung whispered.
The angel’s eyes softened. “You are stronger than you know. The fact that you are here, speaking with me, shows your strength. Pain is a part of life, but so is joy. You have the power to find that joy again, to create new memories and to honor the ones you’ve lost by living fully.”
