Wooyoung stood in stunned silence, his heart frozen in time as he watched San’s chest rise and fall one last time before it went still. San’s eyes, once full of life and love, had finally closed, leaving an unbearable emptiness in their wake. The world around Wooyoung felt like it was collapsing, the weight of his grief pressing down on him like a suffocating blanket.

He tried to cry, tried to let the pain out, but no tears came. His heart was shattered, yet his body refused to react. The world had lost its meaning, and everything felt like a cruel joke. Love, once so powerful and consuming, now seemed like a distant memory, a concept that no longer made sense.

Wooyoung slowly backed away from San’s still form, his legs trembling beneath him as he leaned against the cold, sterile wall of their room. The room felt like a tomb, a place where hope had come to die. He felt numb, his mind a fog of disbelief and despair.

As he stared blankly ahead, the story San had once told him began to echo in his mind—the story of the brave knight who had fought valiantly to protect his kingdom, only to lose everything he had ever loved. The tale had seemed so distant then, just a story of someone else’s tragedy. But now, it felt like his own.

Wooyoung’s voice was barely a whisper as he spoke, as if San was still there beside him, listening. “San… you remember that story you told me? About the knight who lost everything… his love, his kingdom… everything he fought so hard to protect? I didn’t understand it then. I thought… I thought it was just a story.”

His voice cracked, his eyes welling up with the tears that finally began to fall. “But now… now I get it. I’m that knight, San. I tried to protect you, to keep you safe… but I failed. I couldn’t save you… and now, I’ve lost you. Just like that knight lost his love, I’ve lost mine. And I… I don’t know what to do.”

The silence of the room pressed down on him, the weight of his words hanging in the air. He looked over at San, hoping for some kind of response, some sign that he was still there, still with him. But there was nothing—just the cold, unyielding reality of loss.

“I feel so empty, San,” Wooyoung continued, his voice trembling with emotion. “Like everything I fought for, everything I believed in… it’s all gone. You were my world, my reason to keep going… and now that you’re gone, I don’t know who I am anymore.”

His heart ached with a pain so deep it felt like it would consume him. The room around him seemed to close in, the walls pressing in on him as if the very air was trying to crush the life out of him.

“I miss you already,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “I miss you so much it hurts. And I don’t know how to live without you, San. I don’t know how to be without you…”

He sank to the floor, his body trembling with the force of his grief. He wanted to scream, to rage against the unfairness of it all, but all he could do was sit there, broken and lost.

The story of the knight echoed in his mind, a haunting reminder of the life he’d lost. And as he sat there, alone in the sterile room, Wooyoung felt the crushing weight of his new reality—a reality without San, without love, without hope.

And that was when love lost its meaning, when the sky fell down, and life became nothing more than a cruel irony. All Wooyoung could do was sit there, his heart in tatters, as the world around him continued on, indifferent to his pain.

Wooyoung lingered in the heavy silence, his eyes drifting upward to the ceiling as if searching for some distant, unreachable heaven. The room was cold and still, but inside him, a storm raged—a storm of unanswered questions, of broken dreams, of a heart that had loved too deeply and lost too much.
