"There's too much darkness in the world. Everywhere you turn, someone is tryin' to tear someone down in some way; everywhere you go, there's a feeling of inadequacy, or a feeling that you're not good enough. I want to bring a certain light to the world."
— Alicia Keys

Chocolate Muffins
Spencer's eyes fluttered open as the first rays of sunlight crept through the partially drawn curtains. He had always been an early riser, but lately, sleep had become more elusive than ever. His mind was a constant whirlwind of thoughts, all centering around a certain blonde who had unexpectedly entered his life and turned it upside down.
As he blinked away the remnants of sleep, Spencer became aware of his surroundings. The familiar texture of the couch beneath him reminded him that he hadn't made it to bed last night. He attempted to stretch his stiff muscles but quickly realized he wasn't alone. A warm weight pressed against his side, and a mess of golden hair tickled his chin.
Olivia Owens. The name echoed in his mind, bringing with it a rush of emotions he was still learning to navigate. It had only been a month since they met, yet in that short time, she had managed to weave herself into every aspect of his life. Spencer found himself constantly surprised by how easily she had broken through his carefully constructed walls.
He had always prided himself on his independence, his ability to keep others at arm's length. Physical touch, in particular, had never been his forte. But with Olivia, everything was different. Her casual touches - a hand on his arm, a quick hug, even the way she would unconsciously lean into him while they watched TV - had become something he not only tolerated but craved.
Their living arrangement had been born out of necessity - he was her bodyguard, after all - but it had quickly evolved into something more. They had fallen into a comfortable routine, their lives intertwining in ways Spencer had never experienced before. He found himself looking forward to their shared meals, their late-night conversations, and even their mundane everyday tasks.
Last night had been particularly memorable. With the recent revelations about Olivia's mother and her manager weighing heavily on her mind, Spencer had suggested a quiet night in. They had curled up on the couch, sharing a thick, soft blanket as they binge-watched episodes of Love Island. Olivia had insisted on making her famous chicken noodle soup, its comforting aroma still lingering in the air.
As Spencer gazed down at Olivia's sleeping form, he couldn't help but gawk at how peaceful she looked. The worry lines that had creased her forehead lately were smoothed away, her lips curved in a slight smile. Without thinking, he began to gently stroke her hair, his fingers threading through the silky strands. Even in her sleep, she responded to his touch, nuzzling closer to him.
