A/N: I cannot stress this enough..
DON'T DO DRUGS OF
ANY KIND!
__________
The otherwise quiet dining area was disturbed with constant rhythmic tapping on the kitchen table.
"Jordan, quit it!"
"Jordan!"
"Do I have to-"
Robin walked into the kitchen and immediately froze in her tracks, finally understanding why all her calling was ignored. Jordan's ears were covered with the headphones on his old Walkman as he tapped away on at the table with his spoon and bare left hand.
Shaking her head, Robin walked over to him and tapped him on the shoulder, causing him to jump so hard he banged his knee on the table.
"Shit!" He let out, looking up at his older sister. "What is your problem, woman?!"
"I've been yelling the past five minutes" Robin rolled her eyes.
"Oh..." Jordan blinked. "Sorry..."
"We've talked about this, no headphones on during breakfast" Robin picked up the single eggo left on his plate and took a bite from it.
"The fuck, dude?!" Jordan raised his arms.
"Quit your complaining, I made them" the older girl picked up her backpack from one of the chairs it'd been sitting on. "Get your stuff and let's go or we're gonna be late"
"Is that such a bad thing?" Jordan groaned as he got off the chair, taking his plate to the sink.
"You're already flunking classes as it is" Robin scoffed as Jordan walked past her to get his backpack. "Which is ironic since you're friends with the nerdiest of nerds"
"We can't all be science nerds" the 14 year old tugged on his... Relatively empty backpack.
"Just... Try and get your grades up somehow" Robin sighed softly as they walked out. "cheat if you have to"
"Woahhh.. that's a first" Jordan snorted as they stepped out. "You actually want me to cheat?"
"I did it all the time.." Robin locked the door. "plus with friends like Maya and Corey, I'm surprised you haven't picked anything up"
"You want me to pick things up from the girl who let all the living frogs loose in the lab?" Jordan gave his sister a look as he got on his bike.
"Uh.. yeah" she replied in a "duh" tone. "Would you rather do that or... study?"
"Fair point " Jordan nodded. "but I might as well just get some studying done later today anyways. I don't plan to go anywhere this Halloween.. as usual"
Robin gave a frown once she heard that. They'd never been able to afford costumes for themselves. They'd made a few costumes out of old clothes for Robin when they were younger but one could imagine how that turned out. Jordan didn't want them to have to start doing that all over again, so since he was 11, he'd made a habit of ditching the holiday and spending it at home with his mom and sister, watching TV and being scared multiple times by Robin's surprisingly good monster impressions.
"I'm sorry, buddy" Robin reached out and rubbed his arm. She never had a lot of stuff other kids did as a kid and even though she was only three years older, she hated to see her little brother experience that too.
"Eh" Jordan shrugged with a small smile. "Halloween's not my favorite holiday anyways so it's not a big deal"
"You.. want me to come home early tonight? We could watch a scary movie together" Robin gave a soft smile.
