"Jordan come on..." Sam dragged him by the hand across the hallway. The aforementioned boy was still really sleepy as the previous night had seen the group talk.. a lot. And he and Max were coincidentally the last ones to fall asleep.
What had the two talked about before getting knocked out? Jordan couldn't remember... The Xanax had done it's job a little too well.
"I'm,coming.. jeez, calm down" he grumbled as he walked behind her, Maya, Max and Stephanie.
Sam snorted and smirked at him. "Oh you're–"
"No" Jordan instantly cut her short, knowing where she'd take that statement. "Don't even try it"
"You're no fun" Sam pouted slightly. Jordan rolled his eyes.
"Corey better appreciate this" he grumbled, still trudging after them as he wiped his eyes for probably the twelfth time.
"Who wouldn't appreciate being scared awake on their birthday?" Max chipped in.
Jordan didn't have enough clarity to tell if that was sarcasm or not and he couldn't ask cause they were there already. They silently opened Corey's room door and walked in. He saw Corey sleeping peacefully on his loft bed.. he thought that's what it was called. Jordan felt bad that Corey was probably about to see his life flash before his eyes... On the day he was born.
Ironic.
Stephanie silently counted down with her fingers and Jordan slowly placed his hands over his ears.
Three... Two... One...
"Happy birthday!!" The four girls in the room chorused.
As Jordan predicted, Corey got up with a terrified gasp and jumped so hard he fell off the bed and onto the floor with a thud.
"Aaaand you killed him, great job" Jordan commented earning a giggle from Max.
Stephanie instantly scrambled over to help him up.
"Luckily I'm alive.." Corey groaned as he got to his feet. "their sick plan didn't work"
"You're fine and we didn't try to kill you" Steph defended. "You didn't even fall that hard"
"Tell that to his torso" Jordan folded his arms.
"Thank you!" Corey pointed to the mentioned spot.
"Not helping" Steph glared at him. Jordan smiled at her innocently.
"Stop being a drama queen" Maya rolled her eyes.
"Samantha, since when did your battalion move into our house?" Corey looked at his cousin.
Instead of responding, Sam presented him with the red velvet cake. If Jordan was being honest, that was the only thing keeping him from falling asleep again.
"How's fifteen feel?" Sam asked.
"Fifteen??!" Max asked in shock.
"Oh yeah, Corey's a grandpa" Jordan nodded.
"Fuck you" Corey glared at him.
"I'm into girls, sorry man" Jordan shrugged.
Max snorted. Were these two always like this.
"Corey's kind of a delinquent" Steph explained.
"Wow.. what'd he get held back for?" Max asked.
"Murder"
"Oh"
"I'm kidding"
"And here I thought you were cool" Max tsked.
