After school, the group was now biking home. Jordan had managed to keep his urges under control, though he still felt antsy. Actually, he internally felt like he was gonna be sick, and it didn't help that the others were constantly teasing Sam about her crush on Justin, who she also called Jay. Something that kinda annoyed him as he considered that nickname special... but the girl was in love, so he let it slide.

Looking to his right, he could see Lucas with a similar annoyed expression on his face. He wondered what that was about.

He'd have his Walkman on to drown them out, but he didn't need to give himself a headache on top of this. He wondered if he had any more cough syrup at home—

"Uh, guys?"

He then heard an engine roar behind them. Looking behind them, he spotted the same blue Camaro from the other day heading toward them. "Again??!"

"What do you mean again?" Maya asked.

"This same psycho almost ran me over before," Jordan explained.

"And I think he plans to do the same this time," Sam's eyes widened as the vintage car got closer.

"We're cooked," Jordan nodded.

"SHIT!"

"MOVE, MOVE!"

"WE NEED TO HAUL ASS!"

"HE'S GONNA FUCKING KILL US!"

"I CAN'T DIE, MADONNA HASN'T KISSED ME YET!"

For that moment, it seemed like every other sensation in Jordan's body was forgotten as his legs were working overtime to get him further away from the Camaro... which was stupid because how the hell could any of their bikes outrun something with an engine?

"OFF THE ROAD NOW!" Sam immediately swerved her bike to the right and onto the plot of grass. The rest of the group all did the same, Jordan last of all as the Camaro grazed his leg the slightest bit right before he swerved completely and fell over.

The Buckley immediately got to his feet and raised his middle finger to the passing vehicle. "People like you need jail time and exorcism, fuckwad!"

Jordan instantly fell back to the grass, hand on his chest as he caught his breath from that near-death experience.

"Guys, call me crazy, but..." Sam looked at him. "I think Max was in that car."

Jordan felt himself freeze.

"I'm sorry... what?"

Melissa Buckley was a trooper.

Working multiple jobs a day just to make sure they had enough to get by was something she'd submitted herself to long ago. Soon enough, Robin decided to get a job herself to help with the finances, and as much as she appreciated the thought, Melissa wasn't happy with the thought of her children starting to work so early. Robin, however, was incredibly stubborn and decided to help anyway.
