Moselle

We walked in tensed silence as my demon half led us up a hill toward stone pillars. Shuri walked in front of me while Namor stayed behind us all. His eyes never leaving the demon who led us a yard away, giving us distance so we know it wouldn't try anything. Or a least that's what I assumed.

I glance behind me to get a glimpse of Namor. His hands weren't shaking anymore but that haunted look on his face remained. I stop walking and turn to him and he stops right in front of me, his eyes leaving the demon that continued on the path. Shuri turned to us and I gave her a look to give us a minute and she simply nodded and walked away a few feet to give us space.

"What happened back there?" I ask him in a hushed tone

"What happened back there?" I ask him in a hushed tone. He stayed silent as he looked me over, as if looking for a invisible wound. "Namor?" I say as I reach for his hand but he pulls away from me. I hide my hurt feelings and push them away. Something clearly rattled him to be acting like this. We stay like that for a moment when his eyes meet mine again. I hold his gaze. "Please." I say taking a step toward him. I reach my hand up to cup his face, and this time he welcomes my touch. "Talk to me."

His eyes searched mine for a moment before he took in a deep breath and said. "That women with the dark hair the demon showed us."

"What about her?" I ask.

"That was my mother." I blink in surprise. Of course, that's why she felt familiar. Her and Namors similarities were of mother and son. I brush my thumb over his cheek encouraging him to continue. "I hadn't seen her since the day I buried her. The day I became Namor; was the same day I lost her. I lost my name my mother gave me all because the pain of losing her and that name reminded me of her." He stayed silent, his eyes falling from mine. I wrapped my arms around him and held him in silence. After a moment he wrapped his arm around me and we stood like that for a while. I could feel Shuris stare behind us but ignored it. When we pulled away, I grabbed the sides of his face and kissed his cheek.

"You must have loved her very much." I say. Making him smile slightly.

"She was the last person I ever loved with all my heart." His hand comes up and grabs my hand from his face, intertwining our fingers. "Until you."

I can't help the blush that spreads across my face. I hide my face from him, embarrassed that I'm the one trying to make him feel better and a few words from him has me gushing. I hear him let out a low chuckle before someone yells at us. We turn our attention to the demon half now standing on top of the hill waving at us to hurry it up. Shuri begins to make the ascent up the hill as does Namor but I stop him.

"When this is all done. I want to hear more about her, your mother. Memories of loved ones should be shared." I watch as a small smile blooms across his face.

"As long as you tell me about your family, then consider it a promise." He says.

I smile up at him and quickly plant a kiss on his lips. "Deal."
