*Jay's pov*

I yawned as I got out of the car at the crime scene "you weren't at Mollys" Hailey raised an eyebrow "had other plans" I shrugged smiling remembering getting married to Mei last night

"Mei" my face dropped as I saw a uniformed officer holding a towel to Mei's abdomen "what happened" I quickly took over "a guy came in bleading looking for stuff to stop it, he had a gun in the back of his pants so I was about to call you but another group of guys came in" Mei coughed

"it's ok, we'll get them" I looked down at the towel as I felt something wet, I swallowed the lump in my throat as I saw the towel almost fully red

"the baby" Mei whimpered "He'll be fine" Mei shook her head as I tried to reassure her

"How far out is that ambo?" I looked up "stuck in traffic" the uniformed officer looked down "dammit, this is going to hurt" Mei groaned as I picked her up "sorry" I kissed the side of Mei's head

"I'll drive" Hailey opened the door "someone else" I opened the back of my truck "I'm your partner" Hailey scoffed "I'm not explaining this now" I rolled my eyes "I'll drive" Adam got in the front seat as I got in the back

*1 hour later*

I paced in the waiting room as Conner worked on Mei "Jay you're going to put a hole in the ground" Will sighed "can you go check, see how it's going" I looked at my brother "I have to make sure you don't run back there again, you'll get kicked out"

"We'll make sure he doesn't run back if you can go check" I turned and saw the team "don't be an idiot" Will raised an eyebrow before walking off "she'll be alright" Mouse sat next to me

*5 minutes later*

I looked up as Will sat down next to me "surprised you haven't walked a hole so deep your visiting her family" I glared at Will "they're just stitching her up, Conner said the surgery went great but the baby" Will sighed "Will" I swallowed the lump in my throat

"he's alive, but he was stressed so conner had to take him out, he's in the NICU, he has a good chance of surviving, I'll take you up" I nodded and followed Will

*30 minutes later*

I had been up to see Mei and I's baby but was now sitting beside Mei holding her hand

"hey baby" I smiled as Mei looked over at me "is" Mei put her hand on her stomach "he had to be taken out but he's alive and in the NICU" I kissed the back of Mei's hand

"I shouldn't have been there" Mei started crying "hey, no one knew that would happen, you're alive, he's alive, we're all ok" Mei buried her head in my chest crying

"it's ok baby" I kissed the top of Mei's head "it's alright" I rubbed her back "it's ok"

*30 minutes later*

Mei laid on her side holding my hand watching a show on my phone as the door opened

"seriously Jay, you're married" Hailey scoffed "we can talk about this later, now get out" Hailey rolled her eyes and walked out as Voight walked in

"You good to have a quick talk?" Voight nodded to the hallway "Is it important?" I questioned not wanting to leave Mei's side "I have an update" I nodded and got up "I'll be back in a sec" I kissed the side of Mei's head before walking out of the room

"we know what gang it was we just need to track them down, then get a warrant which will be difficult, commander's son is apart of it, we tried finding him but he's gone to ground" Voight sighed

"how's everything here?" Voight nodded to Mei's room "Mei's not really talking, Levi, I haven't" I looked down "take as much time as you need" I nodded and walked back into Mei's room

"Do you want to talk" I sat my head on the edge of the bed

I smiled slightly as Mei sniffled and put my phone down

*1 month later*

I sat down at my desk for the first time since Mei was shot "you have a wife, we didn't even know you were seeing anyone" Adam leaned on his hands on my desk

"I did" Kim pipes. Up from her desk "you didn't tell me, how long" Adam looked at his girlfriend "we were friends for 2 years, dated 3, engaged 1 then decided to go to the courthouse last month"

"why didn't we?" Adam went to his desk "she moved here after her dad was wrongfully killed by the police in Vietnam, then her mum went to get some sort of compensation and she was killed" I sighed "what happened" Kim frowned

"they were living in a rented house, the previous tenant was wanted for multiple things, they didn't know he had moved, so when they raided the house and saw them they assumed it was Mei's dad they were after, went to arrest him but he wanted to know what was going on, so they shot him, Mei had a flash bang thrown at her and was being beaten, her mum went to the embassy, Mei went with her the same thing happened, her mum was killed Mei was beaten, Mei moved here the next week, into the same apartment building, she avoided me for the first 6 months, but I helped her helped her with something and we got closer over time, now we're here" I explained everything Mei went through

"you sure she doesn't just need a green card from you" Hailey rolled her eyes "Hailey, keep going on like this and you'll be looking for a new unit" Voight raised his eyebrows pointing at Hailey

"he lied to us for years" Hailey scoffed "he had a good reason, so cut it out before you're replaced" Voight walked back into his office

"wait, how'd you know" Adam turned to Kim "I had to come back for something and she was meeting Trudy" Kim shrugged "Trudy knows" Adam groaned "I figured she'd be the best to introduce Mei to first, I was right, there wasn't a bunch of questions, like right now, or any judgement" Hailey scoffed as I glared at her

this is written on my computer again so there is the possibility of mistakes although I chucked it in google docs to check it over and I fixed the stuff that was wrong but my computer can still be stupid, but hey I posted 3 times (2 here, 1 Hazel) in 2 days, good for my commitment issued ass
