Landon and Viktor led the three of them into a room as they got comfortable. "We need you three to stay in here until we figure some things out." Viktor told them as he and Landon handed them a glass of water.

Aurora took it since she and Landon both knew that Atticus wouldn't. "Your sister called you Viktor. Is that what we should call you?" Harlan asked.

"I'd like that." He said, giving Aurora a small smile.

"Alright, Uncle Viktor." Aurora responded as she returned it. Atticus didn't say anything, but simply nodded.

As Viktor sat with Harlan, Landon sat and turned to his twins, "How was your mom and Derek?"

"Depressed." Atticus spat, taking a sip of the water. Aurora gave her brother a glare but Landon didn't mind. His son had a right to be mad at him because he was mad at himself.

"I guess I walked into that one." Landon responded chuckling softly, trying to lighten the mood. "You know I miss her. Sure, it's only been three days for me, but still. Even when I was in Dallas, if I was any second away from her, my heart would slowly ache."

Aurora watched her dad, intrigued at his explanation as Atticus slightly looked at him as well. If there was one thing the twins loved about their dad was his ability to tell stories.

"But I just always knew I would be able to see her later. She was the light of my life. She kept me grounded. Kept me from going insane too."

Aurora slightly chuckled, "Did she have an effect on you? Like, did you feel different from when you first arrived at Dallas?"

Landon softly smiled at his daughter, "She definitely did."

"How much?" Atticus couldn't help but ask as he was pulled into his father's story telling.

Landon turned to him and just smiled, "So much I can't even process. All I know was that she will forever be my soulmate."

"Why couldn't you two be together forever? Isn't that what a soulmate is?" Aurora softly asked. Atticus smiled at his sister for finally asking as he turned to his dad waiting for his answer.

Landon however, already had one. "A soulmate is someone with who you have a unique and deep connection with, along with a mutual understanding and acceptance. That doesn't always mean we'll be together forever. I learned that the hard way."

"Why?" She asked as Atticus stayed quiet, his victory smile dropping.

"Not all of us are able to live a happily ever after, Aurora. No matter how much we want it. Life manages to get in the way. And in my case and my siblings, we aren't cut out to be with our loved ones."

"What about Aunt Lilith and uncle Five?" Atticus asked.

Landon gave them a sad smile, "Their one of the lucky ones. They've been through so much together. She's been with Five more than with me. Did you two know that?"
