In AFTERNOON

The bustling office was filled with the hum of computers and the soft murmur of employees discussing their tasks. YN, still wearing her mask and spectacles, was sitting at her desk, going through a stack of files. Every now and then, she would glance up at Jungkook's office, her curiosity piqued by the enigmatic CEO.

Unable to contain her questions any longer, she decided to knock on his door. Jungkook, who was engrossed in reviewing some documents, looked up with a mix of annoyance and curiosity.

Jungkook: "Come in."

YN stepped into the office, while having mischievous smile on her face and her hands clutching a notepad. Her eyes were bright with questions, and despite the mask covering her face, it was clear she was eager to learn.

YN: "Excuse me, Mr. Jeon. I have a few questions about the project we're working on."

Jungkook: (sighing internally) "Sure, go ahead."

YN: "So, I was wondering, why do we use this particular software for our market analysis? Isn't there a more efficient one available?"

Jungkook: (raising an eyebrow) "We've found this software to be the most reliable for our needs. It's been tested extensively."

YN: "Oh, I see. And about the client meetings, why do we schedule them so early in the morning? Wouldn't it be better to have them later in the day when everyone is more awake?"

Jungkook: (annoyed but amused) "Early meetings ensure that we're on top of things from the start. It sets a productive tone for the day."

YN: "Hmm, makes sense. And one more thing, why do we have to fill out these lengthy reports every week? Can't we just summarize everything in a couple of paragraphs?"

Jungkook: (frustrated) "Detailed reports provide a comprehensive overview. They help us track progress accurately."

YN nodded, jotting down his answers, but she could tell he was getting a bit exasperated. She decided to lighten the mood a bit.

YN: "Alright, one last question. Why is the coffee here so strong? It's like it's trying to wake up the dead!"

Jungkook couldn't help but he answered it

Jungkook: "Some of us need that extra kick to get through the day."

YN: "Got it. Note to self: bring my own coffee."

As she turned to leave, she noticed a flicker of amusement in Jungkook's eyes. Despite his stern demeanor, she could tell he appreciated her curiosity and enthusiasm.

Jungkook: "You ask before you leave"

She stopped and turned back to face him.

YN: (smiling under her mask) "Thank you, Mr. Jeon. I'll keep that in mind. And should I le..........., oh but i have a question, do we........"

He cut her in between

JUNGKOOK: " no you can leave "

As she walked out of his office, she felt a small sense of victory. Jungkook watched her go, a slight smile playing on his lips. Despite her seemingly silly questions, he found her inquisitiveness refreshing. There was something about her that intrigued him, though he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

As YN walked back to her desk, she couldn't help but feel a surge of triumph. She had decided before entering Jungkook's office that she would get him to talk, to break through his cold exterior, even if it was just a little. And she had succeeded.

YN: (thinking) "I did it. I actually made him talk . Who knew that the stone-cold CEO could have a sense of humor?"

She settled back into her chair, her fingers tapping lightly on her notepad as she replayed the conversation in her mind. She had noticed the slight softening in his eyes, the way his lips had almost curved into a smile. It was a small victory, but a victory nonetheless.

YN: (thinking) "Maybe he's not as unreachable as he seems. Maybe there's still a part of My Kangaroo in there somewhere."

Her thoughts shifted to the mischievous way she had asked her questions, deliberately trying to annoy him just a little. It had been a risk, but it paid off.

YN: (thinking) "I got under his skin, just like I used to. If I can keep this up, maybe I can break through that icy facade completely."

She glanced over at his office door, feeling a mix of determination and nostalgia.

With a satisfied smile hidden beneath her mask, YN returned to her work, feeling more motivated than ever. She was ready for the challenge, ready to bring a bit of warmth back into Jungkook's life, even if it meant annoying him in the process.

YN arrived home, her mind still buzzing with the events of the day. She felt a mix of excitement and nervousness from seeing Jungkook again, but she didn’t plan on sharing any details with DJ just yet.

DJ noticed YN's radiant smile as soon as she walked in. "Ladoo, you look like you’ve had the best day ever! You’re glowing."

YN tried to play it cool, shrugging off DJ’s comment. "It was just a good day, DJ. Nothing special."

DJ wasn’t convinced. She raised an eyebrow, giving YN a curious look. "Come on, Ladoo. I know you too well. Something happened. Spill the beans!"

YN laughed, shaking her head. "Really, DJ, it was just a good day at the office. I met some new people, did some good work. That’s all."

DJ crossed her arms, clearly not satisfied with that answer. "You’re hiding something from me. I can tell. You’ve got that look on your face."

YN walked over to DJ and gave her a quick hug. "I promise, there’s nothing major to tell. But thank you for noticing. It’s nice to have a good day every now and then."

DJ smiled, hugging her back. "Alright, alright. But if you’re keeping secrets, I’ll find out eventually."

YN chuckled. "There are no secrets, DJ. Just a really good day."

She headed to her room, thoughts of Jungkook still swirling in her mind. As she lay in bed, she replayed their brief interactions, the way his eyes looked, the sound of his voice. She couldn’t help but smile, feeling a warmth in her heart that she hadn’t felt in years.

YN: (thinking) "Today was amazing. I saw him. He’s changed, but I can still see MY KANGAROO IN THIS JUNGKOOK IS STILL THERE ."

She sighed contentedly, her thoughts drifting to the past and the present, blending together in a comforting way. Slowly, she fell asleep, a smile still playing on her lips.

In the living room, DJ shook her head with a knowing smile. "Something really good happened to her today. She’s glowing like she used to. I hope this is just the beginning of more good days for her."
