"What news from the borders? Have there been any sightings of Saladin's forces?" As the court members gathered around the large table adorned with a detailed map of the kingdom and its neighboring regions, the king addressed them with a serious tone.

His eyes scanned the faces of the assembled nobles and advisors, searching for any sign of alarm or concern.

"The virus that broke out among the enemy forces weeks ago is still present." William responded. "I'm afraid it may have affected our troops as well." His words drew murmurs from the gathered council members, who exchanged worried glances.

"Your Majesty, many would expect us to strike against Saladin and his forces while they are weakened." replied one of the commanders, his tone assertive. The room fell silent as the suggestion hung in the air.

"Let us not make rash decisions." the king cautioned. "Even if the raid were successful, who knows what infections our soldiers might bring back to Jerusalem. We cannot afford to take such a risk." He emphasized his point by lifting a figure from the table, holding it aloft as if to underline the potential consequences of their actions.

"What do you propose we do, then? We're standing idle, and our supplies are dwindling." Arthur, looking around the table, voiced the growing concern.

"The troops must be pulled back." the king declared, placing the figurine firmly in the center of Jerusalem on the map.

"I'm afraid we can't do that." said another general, prompting Baldwin to raise an eyebrow in question under his mask.

"If we withdraw the army, Saladin will have the chance to push forward." William agreed, nodding in approval of the idea.

"No, if we station smaller garrisons at strategic points." the king said, placing figurines on the map. "We can maintain a defensive presence. If Saladin attempts to advance, these outposts will send signals back to the palace, allowing us to mobilize our main forces in response." He said.

The room fell silent as the king's strategy was absorbed by the gathered council members. Baldwin's eyes scanned the map, noting the positions where the smaller garrisons would be placed.

"One of the key benefits of this approach." He continued, his finger tracing the lines of the map. "Is that it allows us to conserve our main army's strength while still maintaining vigilance. We will be able to respond quickly if Saladin tries to breach our defenses, without having to risk the entire force on a potentially disastrous offensive." He finisheed.

"I will prepare the garrisons and recall the rest of the troops." one of the commanders said, to which the king nodded in agreement as the other left to carry out the orders.

"What about Guy?" Simon asked.

"He incessantly insists that we should launch an attack, alongside Raynald." Arthur explained, standing with his arms crossed.

"One day, his patience will wear thin, and he might make decisions that could lead to serious trouble." Simon said with concern.

"Keep a close watch on him." Baldwin instructed firmly. "If he leaves the palace or attempts any actions outside of his assigned duties, inform me immediately. I fear that his unchecked ambition is beginning to cloud his judgment." He said.

"Your Majesty." Simon leaned in closer, his voice low and earnest. "I believe it is time to announce the upcoming marriage and the preparations that accompany it." Baldwin considered his suggestion thoughtfully, his fingers drumming lightly on the edge of the table.

"As those present here are aware, by the will of God, I am to be married." Baldwin said, surveying the room. "I wish for this to be known throughout Jerusalem, and for everyone to assist in the preparations. I understand that this comes unexpectedly, especially with the war looming on the horizon, but the sooner we hold the wedding, the more we can focus our attention on the war effort." He took a deep breath, looking resolutely at his advisors.
