charlie woke up with the biggest headache ever but felt like the luckiest person ever when she saw the water and aspirin next to her bed, well whoever's bed she was in that was then when she realised she was in luke's apartment and recalled what happened yesterday.
she quickly ran through her hair with her fingers and found a hoodie from jess' pile of clothes on the floor and made her way downstairs.
"finally london has awoke, you can stop worrying uncle luke" jess exclaimed seeing the blonde had made her way downstairs. "hey you're wearing my hoodie"
charlie ignored him and walked past him barging his shoulder.
"charlie what the hell, you had me and luke worried sick" lorelai exclaimed walking up to the girl looking at the state she was in.
"well i don't see why i was only drunk and you know that it never gets me in trouble." charlie replied looking bored and grabbing a muffin from the glass case forgetting to put the lid and walking away to sit with lorelai and rory leaving jess to put the lid on.
"charlie this is mia, she is the owner of the inn" lorelai introduced the two to eachother while charlie shook the older woman's hand. "that is luke's nephew over there" lorelai pointed the boy out for the older woman.
"luke that's your nephew"mia called making the pair come over.
"jess this is mia she owns the independence inn"
"huh" jess said looking bored
"that's 'hello nice too meet you' in slacker"
"you don't need me, do you?"jess questioned however luke didn't get to reply as he was already walking off.
charlie decided it was time to start her shift so she got up and walked over to grab her apron and went back over so luke can tie it and went on with her job. after a couple minutes taylor bursts through the door.
"luke i need to talk to you, right now" taylor demanded taking a step into the diner closing the door behind him.
"what is it taylor" luke said still with a coffee pot in his hand so charlie went to his side and took it out of her boss' hand but just secretly wanted to know what this "talk" was about.
"i have conducted a thorough investigation of all the people who may be a witness to the phony murder at the store last night" taylor spoke with a serious tone following luke to the counter.
"huh a murder" charlie gasped having not seen the commotion outside doose's this morning.
"the towns too dull for a real murder" lorelai shouted over to the girl across the diner.
charlie nodded and sat there listening to the two men arguing and she already knew who the culprit of this prank was. all of taylor's clues were leading back to jess. so she excused herself from the argument and made her way up the stairs.
charlie knocked on the door but got no answer. "come on jess, i know you're in there" charlie yelled knocking more aggressively. finally the girl had enough and just walked in.
"didn't anyone tell you not to come in if no one answers" jess stated not even looking up at the girl, focusing on his book.
"why what were you doing? wan-" the girl was cut up with a hand to her mouth.
"don't finish that sentence, you know that's not-, hey did you just lick me?" jess exclaimed with disgust on his face.
charlie now had a smile on her face and it was the first time jess had actually seen her smile in his time being at stars hollow. "well if you put your hand to my mouth obviously i'm going to lick your hand or maybe ill bite it"
"you are insufferable, has anyone told you that" the boy teased trying to get away from the girl by running downstairs and bolting for the door.
"no maybe you'll have to say it again" the blonde shouted while chasing him out the door.
the four people that were downstairs were shocked by what they had just seen.
"i like that girl" mia said with a grin on her face.
"yes we all do even though she is trouble sometimes." lorelai explained to the woman with a laugh.
"that girl has too make up the shift she just ran out on" luke grumbled.

"luke are you even going to get this toaster fixed" charlie complained having enough of using the small one.
"charlie you know, you could help fix it" luke replied to the girl who was just pushing a couple buttons but then jess walked over and showed the pair that it worked.
"what, how" charlie questioned but she looked over at jess who was smiling at rory who was replicating jess' smile. "oh my god, you did it because-"
charlie was cut off by a hand being placed on her mouth for the second time that day and being pushed into the storage cupboard.
"seriously london, don't shout that out here and don't ever bite my hand again" jess grumbled as he took his hand away from the girls mouth thinking it's safe to do so.
"first of all, i cannot believe you like rory, have you even talked to her?" the girl started. "and second of all you can't just make a nickname based on where im from, what nicknames do you have for rory?" charlie laughed watching the boy as he rolled his eyes in annoyance of the girl.
"prescott i can call you london if i want and i don't have a nickname for rory"
"oh, maybe she likes being called darling or sweetheart or even baby" charlie said sticking her tongue out in a gagging action and running around the storage room trying to avoid jess who looked like he was about to kill the girl. "how about i go ask her"
"london i swear to god, you go out there and you're dead" jess threatened the girl even though he knew she would still do it.
charlie quickly bolted through the door of the storage room and dodged luke who was going to check on the pair after lorelai informed him she was concerned on the likeliness that jess was surviving being in a small space with charlie.
jess was faster than charlie so he got to her and pulled her wrist so she came to a halt and directed her to the stools at the counter, the one furthest away from rory.
"don't be silly i wasn't actually going to tell her" charlie told the boy who wasn't totally convinced but charlie laughed at the expression on his face and got back to work making subtle jokes at the boys liking towards the girl.
