"GIVE HER THIS FOR ME, will you?" Pandora requests, handing Regulus an envelope.

"Of course," he replies monotonously.

He and his parents are leaving the Malfoy Manor to the Rain's to give Dianna a surprise visit.

He has been itching to leave the property ever since he returned from Andromeda's cottage.

He misses his friend, but to be quite frank, he misses solitude more.

"You seeing Rain?" Rudolphus questions, making his presence known to the duo.

They stand in Regulus's guest room. Pandora glances at her brother, who stands in the doorway, as she adjusts Regulus's tie.

"Why? Missing your boyfriend already?" she quips, incorrectly assuming he was speaking of Dorian.

"Desperately," Rudolphus deadpans sarcastically, glaring at his little sister with annoyance.

She immaturely sticks her tongue out at him before stepping back from her friend.

Dorian, his older sister, and his parents had been staying here for a little over a week until yesterday. The teens had been forbidden from mentioning their surprising arrival to Dianna in any way, shape, or form, but something must have slipped because now Regulus was to pay them a visit along with his parents.

They hadn't known about the Rain's attachment to the dark arts until recently, but honestly, it surprised none of them. The Rains are a prestigious family, mostly of Slytherin descent—just like them.

Dorian had been staying with Rudolphus in his room on the spare bed, giving the blonde the relief of not having to spend the night with his fiancé for a little while.

That hadn't lasted long.

School couldn't come soon enough.

And Regulus couldn't agree more.

He wonders if Dianna had any awareness of her family's involvement with the Death Eaters. How couldn't she? They live under the same roof. They were gone for a suspicious amount of time without her. Had she been keeping this a secret from them? Why would she? If anything, they would be the only ones who'd understand...

It saddens Regulus deeply at the thought of his best mate not trusting him.

He knew he should just talk to her, but he's never been very good at confrontation, a trait they both share.

"Giving Dorian's sister a letter, eh?" Rudolphus asks, nodding to the envelope in Regulus's hands.

"You could just call her by her name. Dianna is your friend too, isn't she?" Pandora remarks softly, glaring at her brother.

"She is. But she's more your friend than mine," the blonde boy excuses subtly.

"Right," the girl dismisses the topic. "Well, I haven't spoken to Anna in weeks, so this letter will just have to do."

"I'll make sure to get it to her," Regulus assures her.

"Thank you," Pandora thanked him softly.

"When are you leaving?" Rudolphus asks the only other boy in the room.

"Now."

Rudolphus raises his eyebrows at that. "So soon?"

"Honestly, it feels a bit like an ambush," Regulus admits bitterly, moving to stand in front of the body-length mirror as he shrugs on his blazer.

Rudolphus tilts his head as he silently worries for Dianna.

He'd be lying if he said he hadn't been obsessing over the last words they had shared with one another.
