A/N: I haven't posted anything in a while, and I just reached 100 followers, so I thought I'd post a new poem for you guys!! Getting to 100 fans is so wonderful and I'm forever grateful for each and every one of you... I hope you enjoy this sweet poem about my first love, my first real boyfriend, and the first of many summers spent with my new best friend.

(an "I Remember..." poem)

I remember you
I remember the park where we met and you had a broken arm
I remember bright laughter and jokes only we understood
I remember saying things I'd never said before
I remember dancing barefoot on the dewy grass without a care in the world
I remember friendship necklaces and your number on a piece of paper
I remember apple ice cream at the county fair
I remember you moving to Florida and leaving me here behind
I remember sitting in my bed with a notebook and a flashlight
I remember tear-stained pages of foolish poetry about the days you were with me
I remembered the cold water drenching our clothes as we waded through the creek
I remembered your brown rainboots and the plastic grocery bag tied over your cast
I remembered peanut butter and jelly sandwiches eaten on the tallest rock
I remembered the summer heat making our hands sweaty
Yet I still held on,
                         And held on,
                                           And remembered,
                                                                   I remember...
