A/N: Swans have one life long partner. When their lover passes away, they fly high into the air and fall back down, killing them. Swans are filled with passion and love for each other, and I find that so inspiring. This is a song about a 'swan girl' grieving for her lover.
(an original song)
Verse 1:
Lacy wings, satin face
You're like the shimmer of the lake
You're like the daisy tucked in my hair
You're like the chilly breeze in the air
You're everywhere, everywhereChorus:
Listen to my voice, darling,
Can you hear the sound?
I know you're up there somewhere,
So I'm begging you to come back down
My mother's getting worried,
She thinks I look tired,
But I promised I wouldn't shut and eye
Until you come back down
Come back down, down
Come back down, downVerse 2:
Teary iris, broken beak
You're in the grass tickling my feet
You're in the pendant that I wear
You're in the pores of my skin, bare
You're everywhere, everywhereChorus:
Listen to my voice, darling,
Can you hear the sound?
I know you're up there somewhere,
So I'm begging you to come back down
My mother's getting worried,
She thinks I look tired,
But I promised I wouldn't shut and eye
Until you come back down
Come back down, down
Come back down, down(instrumental)
Chorus Part 2:
Listen to this, darling,
If it's the last thing you hear:
If it means saving you,
I'll face my biggest fear
My mother's getting angry,
She doesn't want me to go,
But I promised I'd keep on searching
Until I brought you home
Come back down, down
Come back down, down
Oh, I fall down, down
I fall down, downEnding:
Don't worry, darling,
Stay where you are
I can almost see you now
I knew you wouldn't fly far
