DESPITE THE WARM VIBE OF the dining hall, the atmosphere itself was cold. The family around the girl were nothing but mere strangers. Aegon sat beside Ella. She could still feel his lips against her skin and was red at just the thought of it. Aegon's hand was onto of the girls thigh as he rubbed circles on it. The silence stayed present until the king made his appearance. Everyone stood up in respect. Rhaella turned her head to look at her betrothed. He was much taller than her, his hair was obviously growing longer."How good it is... to see you all tonight. Together." Viserys said already out of breath.
"Prayer before we begin?" Alicent suggested to which Viserys agreed. "May the mother smile down on this gathering with love. May the smith mend the bonds that have been broken for far too long. And to Vaemond Velaryon may the gods give him rest."
Rhaella looked up when the prayer was over. She always took prayer very seriously. Taking after her mother. How could she not when she accompanied Alicent in the sept since she was a small child. Daemon smirked at the mention of Vaemond, his most recent kill. Rhaella cringed at the memory of a man's head ring sliced off right infront of her. Ella respected and maybe even admired woman like Rhaenyra. The rebellious princess with a sword in her hand, but that could never be her. Rhaella was all the stereotypes about woman put into one girl. She was weak and outspoken. Not to mention timid. If a war between councils ever did go fourth she was sure that she would be the first to go.
"This is an occasion of celebration it seems. My eldest son Aegon I'd be married to my youngest daughter Rhaella soon." Viserys said. A proud smile consumed Aegons face. He had dreamt of having Rhaella as his all his life. Now the dream wasn't for far out of reach. Aegon was confident that he had the most beautiful betrothed in the realm. "And my grandsons Luce and Jace will marry their cousins Rhaena and Baela. Further strengthening the bond between our houses. A toast to my little girl... and the young princes."
Rhaella rolled her eyes, out of character for herself. Viserys had never been much of a father to her. She owed it all to her mother Alicent. Rhaella quickly noticed a smirk on Aegons and he leaned over to Jacaerys.
"Well done Jace you finally get to lie with a woman." Rhaella gasped. She almost forgot how Aegon could be towards people that weren't her. Maybe that was why she got looks whenever someone saw Rhaella close by Aegon. In their eyes he was a cunt of a man."Let us toast as well to Prince Lucerys... the future Lord of the Tides." Viserys spoke up again. He had much to toast about this evening it seemed.
Aegon stretched his arms out around the back of Jace's chair. Rhaella was ready to pull Aegon by the tunic, she made for him and yank him away. "You do know how the act is done, I assume? At least in principle. Where to put your cock and all that."
Rhaella sent a apologetic look Jaces way and he replied with a sad half smile. "You can play the jester as you wish but hold your tongue before my betrothed." Jace said holding his composure. Rhaella noticed the boy could be level headed and patient. Not normal traits of a Targaryen man.
Aegon turned back around sitting beside his future wife. "What was that?" Rhaella whispered with annoyance.
"Just a friendly teasing dear love." Aegon winked, picking up his cup of wine and bringing it to his lips.
Rhaella folded her arms in disappointment, looking up to see her mother staring at her from across the table. Alicent shook her head, gesturing that she disapproved with Aegons behavior. The red headed princess quickly noticed someone else was staring at her. Rhaenyra her eldest sister look at the girl with a odd look in her eye. Ella couldn't figure out if it was a look of admiration or sadness. Maybe both. The woman quickly looked away when Rhaella returned the glance.
